I have a 1968 GT390 Fastback Mustang equipped with the 8 AE-H heads -
Are they Medium Riser ?

The Car came with a Edelbrock Streemaster Intake and a Holley 735 cfm. Carb.
Some people claim that the Original heads aren´t up for the match with the Intake and
bigger Carb.

Any Thoughts Ideas ?

The 8 AE-H heads are used on the GT 390s but they were also used on the 428 GT 500 s ,not the KRs but the earlier 428 with the police motors .
I ported and polished a set for a 66 ford pre runner pick up and they worked great ,but they are heavy .If i remember right the standard head for the GT 390 was a C7 or 8 AE-A . I still have a couple of sets of the C8 AE-H heads .

I am not sure what the difference is ,if there is a difference .I have been told the AE-H heads were Ford 428 service heads . And i have been told they are standard 428 heads drilled to work in the Mustang engine compartment .I never really looked into the differences .
There is a Ford parts web site you can check ,it may show what the differences are . Ford casting Id.numbers and parts identification info for Mustangs .This site has parts numbers for almost all vintage Ford parts .
