Build Thread My Never Ending 89 Notch Thread

My shifter is also positioned more to the right, my t5 wasn't that way and it was also an original aod car. no idea on the spacers, im using a stock crossmember with a urethane mount, and the tko actually gives me some more room above the shifter than the t5.

Btw, my help did show up today, at least until we discovered that my previous solo attempt mushroomed the splines on the clutch disc. Hopefully i can just take a file to the offending burrs and be done with it tomorrow.

Thank you for confirming yours is the same . I emailed stifflers a picture to make sure that I have it correct . The spacers are supposed to correct the pinion angle of a TKO cuz apparently the mounting pad is deeper on the case then a T5 .

Let me add that they are nothing short of amazing in the CUST service dept . What company answers emails on a Sunday morning . I sent them a pic they said all is well , I may just want to move the drive shaft loop above the bushing to give the ds more clearance .

Drive shaft loop is in . Stifflers says to trim the torque arm mount on the TKO I wasn't feeling it so I cut the center of the brace instead . Still feels rigid to me

I just drove mine all weekend. About 150 miles total. Looks like I'm going to be ordering a TKO now also. I knew it was getting a little "worn" but it definitely is on its last legs. Started grinding and poping out of 2nd gear. Grinds a little into 3rd if I shift aggressive. Can't downshift into 2nd without it poping out. So I guess the trans will see some love before the Dart or maybe I'll just bite the bullet and do them both like you lol.

Spent well more money today . Lol My drivers door has always been a nightmare opening with the door handle very hard almost feels like your gonna break it . Well problem solved . I bought everything new oem - door handle , latch , striker , and the door handle rod . I re did the door pins before I painted it hoping that would fix it . Also got a new shift boot as mine as always been ripped to shreds . New headlight seals (super dry rotted) . And a new oem shift knob . Yes I like the oem knob for some reason I actually always use it at the track .

Damn dude. Here I was thinking this was going to be a simple engine swap and was going to be an in-and-out type deal. Either way, will be a very nice car once finished.
My wallet thought the same thing LOL . Thank you man trying anyway . Wil never be perfect and it always gonna be a driver car but that's what I want

For $45 it should open itself for you...lol

Man... if I part out my car I can get $90 for the door handles!
Lmao . If you see how hard this handles been since the day I got it you'd almost pay any price to fix it back to normal

My last fox you had to hold both the handle and your jaw just right to get it to open. I knew the trick and it was super easy, trying to watch someone else open the door was amusing. Good anti theft device, until they break the window and go all Dukes of Hazard on it. :)
