Progress Thread Tanner's "there's Probably A Name For This Illness" Builds Thread

Very nice. I love the diy. Good job.

Did you get the manuals for the trans? They are worth their weight in gold. Some shops will give you tips too for putting it together.
I've got GMs as well as the one Jake from Jakes performance recommended. I haven't bought the new parts yet, was just trying to get a feel for whether I'd want to do it myself or not

In other news I decided to give the daily driver some overdue attention.
Swapped the wheels and tires, swapped in an Escalade gauge cluster with the trans temp gauge. New belts and fresh oil. I love this truck. Poor cobra continues to be neglected

Not sure what the game plan is just yet but at least it's torn down.
Got a friend that runs a diesel performance shop, who will build it for a decent price. But I'm stubborn and think I'd rather blow up my own and learn something

You and me both Tanner.

I've got a pic that looks just like that from the 4R70w that I decided to tear apart. (That I didn't need to)
But unlike you, I'd rather not blow mine up "learning".

I just get frustrated paying other people for labor. Obviously there are times it's justified, this might be one of those times, but I'm gonna give it a shot

Is there really such thing as too big? Not in my opinion... I present to you 500lb injectors :puke:

Frikking soup cans!!!

Which goes faster on your car- the speedometer from 0 to 100 or the gas gauge from Full to Empty? ( as if you have the gas gauge hooked up)

Submitting an offer on a house on Monday. Gonna put the brakes on the cobra for a while but hopefully my days of renting shop space are soon to be over

I had to rent shop time when I was in the military. Half the time was spent setting up and then cleaning up.
I did that 1 time when I was in the USA. For me it turned out to be pretty expensive, despite the fact that it was supposed to be for service members only. That, coupled to the time spent having to mop the space afterwards, made it a one time deal for me.
