Mustang is my dream car. I got two quotas from dealers last week. One is for Fastback V6 $22200, the other is fastback ecoboost $23600. I saw some shared prices by others in autopriceshare are lower than mine. However, I think it is a fair price for me and dealers both. I compared the options difference between these two models and read some reviews about 2015 Mustang. However, I believe that the opinions from current Mustang owners are more valuable, Could any friends here give me some suggestions, V6 or EcoBoost?

I'm a firm believer in owning a v8 / manual when it comes to buying a performance vehicle... However, if I had to choose, I would most definitely go ecoboost. Better gas mileage and more performance potential.

With that being said... I would rather own a base gt with no options than a fully loaded every option ecoboost.

And I would rather buy a fiesta than a v6 mustang... Just sayin.

If the only two option on the table are those listed above, my choice is also the ecoboost. Personally I believe that the 6 cylinder is on borrowed time in the current market. The turbo 4cyl will prevail in the coming years as it is more economical when it comes to fuel consumption and has the ability to create as much hp as other larger engines in the same market

It depends on a few things. 1st, is this going to be JUST your daily driver or a daily driver PLUS a car you'll take to the track? Do you have the money or even DESIRE to start modding the car? Answer that first and foremost.

If it's just a daily driver, either will do. I am leaing towards the V6 myself, but if you're concerned about gas mileage, the Ecoboost is by far the better choice. If it's something you'll start modding, I would then recommend the Ecoboost. As it will most likely respond better to minor modifications.

That said, having owned several modded and high horsepower mustangs, I likely will be buying a V6 next year if GT prices don't drop significantly. I really do not care for stock low horsepower turbo cars (mostly due to them being dogs when not under boost) and have no desire to get back into moddifying my daily driver mustangs.

I admit I can't wait to see some V6 guys putting superchargers on their cars in the coming year or so and seeing what kind of numbers they'll be putting down. I think they will be taking a poop on the Ecoboosts and a lot of stock GTs for a fraction of the price. $22k V6 with a maybe $6k into a supercharge making what, 420+hp? That's some interesting potential.

84Ttop, go pick up a V6 and drop another Vortech in it. We need some argument data here.

Yeah, the V6 is in a tough spot and IMO gets a bad wrap. More economical than the V8, but not as fuel efficient as the Ecoboost.

After driving a 3.7L V6 Mustang in the past and owning a variant of the current 4-cylinder Ecoboost in another car, I can say for certain that the V6 is silky smooth in comparison to the Ecoboost without the initial boost lag, which makes it a nicer daily driver without a doubt.....and I don't know if any of you have heard the 3.7L V6 with an aftermarket exhaust.....but  On the other hand, the Ecoboosts sharper torque curve is certainly going to make it more fun to drive and the mileage difference (although not as dramatic as the V8) will be undeniable.

The reason I agree with you that the V6 in this market is on borrowed time, is that it will never get the turbo option that the 4-cylinder did, simply because it would be difficult NOT to make power levels at, or above the current V8 territory, effectively taking a bite out of GT sales. That 3.7L could be so much more if Ford ever gave it the option....but they won't.

Personally....I'm a little confused as to why they even offer the V6 as an option anymore?

To me...
Ecoboost is kinda like the old SVO fox body. Neat, a little more respectable, but still not a v8.
V6 mustangs have three major clients... old people, strippers, and teenagers who got a used one (prolly bought from a stripper or old person) for their first ride. (the same can be said for any v6 'muscle car')... granted, they are better now a days, but it is still against my mustang religion! Sorry if I offended anyone...

I'm gonna guess you're probably too young to remember the early days of the Fox Body Mustang (pre-SVO), when the 4-cylinder turbo Mustang GT was top dog and the V8 took second fiddle?

....also, there were a couple of years that the SVO outperformed the GT in the mid-80's.

Ohhhh....I wouldn't say "ANY"

When the Grand National came out, it was the first time I had ever heard the term "Governor". There was a reason they had put one on that car. CT State Police picked up a fleet of these back in the day.

Gearbanger... Touché! Yeah, I am only 32 so during the 80's I was more in to my hot wheels and Nintendo than paying attention to turbo 4 cyl mustangs. Good point with the GN... I was aiming the heckling more toward v6 Camaro's - not grand nationals - LOL
