I'm going to run my Coupe for a little while with the exhaust dumped (because I already have a set) but I will eventually invest in a proper LX tail pipe set up. I hear some take some bending to get the pipes to line up with each other and with the angle of the body line behind the rear wheels.

So my questions are, Who makes the best looking and best fitting LX exhaust/tail pipe setup for an LX Hatch or Coupe with the stock gas tank? What tail pipes have the best finish and don't rust or deteriorate? This is about looks, fit and finish, not sound.

Pictures?

I have just put on a brand new Flowmaster cat back and its fitment so far has been worse than Mac (if that's possible). I have an appt with an exhaust shop Fri to get things fitting better.

I can say one of the muffler outlets was not expanded far enough to allow the tail pipe/tips to slide in properly. The other side "fit" but it's alignment is horrible in relation to the bumper etc.

I had opposite results.

My MAC cat-back fit like junk. My Flowmaster American Thunder setup fit perfectly.

I have 3" VRS stainless tails. I bought them used and had to do a little fab work as the PO cut them off a little short, but they hit on the pass side UCA. They look OK otherwise and had I waited and used a lift instead of building my catback on jacks, it could have been done a lot better.

I've got the Flowmaster tails on mine too and they're nice. Stainless, polished to a mirror finish and bolt right on. It won't matter what brand or style of tail pipes you get, they're going to require "fitting". It's not an issue with the tails, so much as it is with the car itself. All of these cars were built like they were thrown together on a Friday afternoon and there isn't one straight edge on a Fox body that matches another....so it should come as no surprise than a little "tweaking" will be in order.

Man I just must have that one dang kit that sucks.

This isn't the best angle but here is the Flowmaster kit after about 6 hours (Installed H pipe too so that took a little time naturally) of work to get it to fit under the car.

I am a fan of the 3"+ tail pipes. Some people think it looks silly but I think big 'ol tail pipes look badass.

I'd post up a shot of my car but the tail pipes are garbage. It's a 10+ year old Flowmaster kit with the cheap aluminized, not stainless, tails. College NIKwoaC was a cheap skate.

I have an SLP set up. I like the tips, rolled stainless. I hate that the rolled stainless tip ends halfway down the body line and then you see where it connects to the regular unpolished metal, and the clamp. Tried 3" floater tails like posted above but didn't have the time to fiddle with the custom set up.

Wish the flow master tails came with a full polished look from above the body line to the end of the pipe and disn't cut it off halfway down
