I bought an 02 GT off of a buddy in Florida he had found out that the car had been in Cervini's catalog
when he purchased it he went through several wheel changes and he hated the "ricer" tail lights and headlights.
the last thing he changed was to remove the cobra r wing because he said it was even more of a blind spot than the quarter window scoops
my problem is now with the wing gone I think it looks like its missing something but am not sure which spoiler or wing it needs...any opinions? suggestions?

Take the quarter window scoops off, leave the rear deck lid spoilerless and drop that thing and it would look about perfect. Not sure what wheels you're running on it now, but a set of deep dish wheels out back would set it right off.

I'm running the American muscle 95 cobra r style wheels on it now ..the rears are 10-1/2 with 315/35/17's on them..
this is what my wife drives and the scoops are staying (for now)

what I am really looking for is a spoiler to compliment the scoops , to finish out the look of the rear since the wife said the scoops are staying
Then you might as well keep the Cobra R wing on....it's as gaudy looking as those fake scoops are and I can't imagine anything making them look like they belong on that car IMO. (no offence....I'm just a less is more, kind of guy). The best thing you could do for that car is return it as close to stock looking as possible....but hey, that's just my opinion....and you did ask for opinions. ;)

I'm also a fan of the wingless look on coupes, especially with fat tires....BUT if you are keeping the side scoops, you're right it needs something. Maybe a Saleen S281 style spoiler? those seem to go well with scoops and stuff, without being quite as over-the-top as the Cobra R wing.

There's no solution to your situation. Problem isnt the wing, its those atrocious scoops. If you wife is intent on keeping them, then she is obviously intent on keeping the car looking crap

no the problem is I ask about a wing/spoiler nothing about the quarter window scoops...hopefully you didn't have to use spellcheck too much to make sure you knew how to spell big words that you don't understand what they mean...PLUS ...PLEASE finish your sentence..
there has been only ONE helpful reply on this thread.....

LOL. You're a douchebag and no longer worthy of my praised advice. However, I will leave you with one last snippet of guidance.....the scoops are what is breaking up the look of the rear. Postulate it if you must, but the solid white of them eliminates any bit of contrast......hence the perpetual comments regarding them. Change the scoops and it changes the look......for the better.

And yes, I understand the words that are coming out of my mouth.....in full detail. Good day.

Thank you for that......whatever that was

so Troll on...troll on

no wonder your post count is so high...
P.S. beautiful words....somehow the world seems so peaceful now....

Ok, this is starting to get too ugly. We're obviously not gonna change his mind on the side scoops, so lets try to keep it constructive from here on out and leave the mud slinging at the door.

what's amazing about this thread is nowhere did I ask if I should remove the scoops or anything of that nature. there were no less than 4 comments on the scoops NOT on the original post of what wing/spoiler...I understand if no one likes the quarter window scoops.. you do NOT I repeat do NOT have to have them on YOUR car...as for my wife she likes the look of being different than all the cookie cutter mustangs out there.... I have said twice the scoops were staying... that being said why would anyone try to change my mind????

I removed the spoiler from my 2000 GT once for kicks & I absolutely could not stand the look of the holes left behind (even w plastic caps installed). I'm OCD with those types of details & it just looks cheap to me that way. I would probably go with the 2000 Mustang GT spoiler that is flush mounted to the decklid, or look into making an 03 Cobra spoiler setup work with your car. The 03 Cobra route adds a lot of additional cost & potential fabbing but they're the best looking spoiler available IMO.

I'm not sure what it is with Nightfire, dude always gets into Internet pissing matches with others on here. He's not capable of just being above it all despite his apparent mastery of the English language & obvious car knowledge.
