New Project, Feedback Wanted On Engine Swap

I think you made the right choice, but i would have gone with bourbon

As long as that thing has some decent pistons in it, I'd put off the stroker if youre keeping a budget. A good hci 351 (think similar parts to a common 347) in that little flareside should move pretty good.

The pistons look fair, but the crank looks rough. The motor has been disassembled for a long time and the crank rusted.. which is why I was thinking cheap stroker. I'll emery cloth the crank and mic it and we'll go from there.

The problem with a coyote swap at your level (read: boost) is that if you really want to make a big number, the blocks start shi tting themselves around 800. A lot of the guys building big HP coyotes around me have been sleeving the blocks which is $$$$$. @Sharad does the SF have a sleeved block? I know you said it's around 700whp, what do you know about going higher?

I've seen plenty of Coyotes hit 1000rwhp with stock blocks. I'm currently at 700rwhp and getting ready to make a move for 900. But my block is not sleeved. I won't push it past 1000.

People throw around 1000rwhp like it's nothing, because it's so easy to hit. (if you have money) But very few people have actually driven a car with 1000rwhp. 1000rwhp on the street is ridiculous. (in a good way) An 800rwhp car which dead hooks will beat almost all 800+ cars on the street, because almost all of them spin forever.

I think 351is a great choice for that truck, youll be able to haul, tow and stop light race, but leave it pink it adds character.

That's what my son says, leave it pink. I don't think I could drive a pink truck unless it had a nasty engine and lots of attitude... lowered, black wheels.. still a difficult thing.. haha.

My son is asking if we poke an 8-71 blower thru the hood if that make it cool enough for y'all for it to stay pink.. haha..

He wants it pink because it's always been "grandma's pink truck" and if we paint it it won't be the pink truck anymore..
