Hello all,
I have a 93 fox ssp car I have been pulling my hair out over lol. A little info on the car it was factory auto previous owner swapped to 5 spd. Engine is a 306 stock bottom end and stock pistons, has hv oil pump, gt40 heads have been bowl blended and gasket matched, gt40 upper and lower. When i bought the car had stock 19lb inj, throttle body and maf. He suggest it needed tuned. Got in touch with a local tuner he said really need 24 inj, so proceeded to buy a 76mm c&l maf with power pipe, bbk 70mm throttle body. Took car to tuner he tuned it told me that with exhaust leaks he couldn't get down low correct needed to het exhaust leaks fixed had dumps put on it. Ever since car has never been right above 2k it does fine but cruising and idle no good. Car has shorty headers, off road h pipe to single chamber dumps. Intake setup is 3.5 pipe from fender well to maf and then power pipe to tb. Codes with chip installed 15,26,85 and before tune and chip tuner said it was very lean. So I can install factory air box and piping with c&l maf car runs good only codes are smog related. With chip in idle is very rich and surges and help because I am lost and have considered carbing it lol

start by running the tests indicated for the codes you have pulled, you will need a proper service manual for this. after that start looking for vacuum leaks, low fuel pressure, etc.

Ok first welcome

Now,,, whomever told you that you needed larger injectors is wrong. Never go back to that "tuner" again- you do not need a tune, larger injectors, power pipe, 70MM TB, and the C&L MAF is junk.

Do this,

Take the chip out
Fix the exhaust leaks. That is your lean condition.
get rid of the C&L MAF unless you installed 24# injectors and it is calibrated to the injectors.
If you have not installed the 24 # injectors dont and dont use the C&L MAF
Get a 94-95 Mustang GT 70MM MAF from a junkyard - they are about $40 and are 10X better than any C&L. The mapping is near exact the Fox MAF
Grab a 65MM TB off any mid 90's V8 explorer in the junkyard. All you need to do is make an adjustment to the throttle linkage. It is more than enough for your setup and it will run maybe $40

Your 19# injectors are more than enough. Injectors don't make HP, they support it. They are good for at least 275-280 hp
Did the "tuner" hook up an A/F gauge to your car and what was the reading. If he couldnt tune your car, how does he know you are running lean? What is your FP reading? It should be 39 with the vacuum line off and plugged.
Timing should be set to 10BTDC with the spout out as a base.

I assume you removed your smog equipment- that will explain the smog codes.

Eseentially, you are getting a whole lot of bad advice.
