Help Me Brainstorm...

He did indeed do some tuning, and for whatever reason we didn't drive it afterward and I didn't ask him to. My fault. But the idle quality is a bit worse now, as far as steadiness goes. I'm no longer worried about the visible shudder, as I have come to accept that as a characteristic of my camshaft. I've even had some hot start surging going on that will eventually stall out the motor, and now I'm back in CO hahaha.

I too have been thinking about getting into the tuning game, just to learn a bit and possibly be able to make minor tweaks on my truck. Here is what I would need (and probably you as well):

See package deal #2.

Nevermind that the included "dongle" definitely sounds like a sex toy versus a tuning device =P.

I hear ya, if you have a decent amount of mods the base tune will probably need a lot of tweaking, though.

From what I understand, you send in your list of mods with your order, Willie programs the unit prior to shipping it out, you install it, run and data log it and then send him the file with the results. At that point, he looks it over and "tweaks" whatever parameters that need tweaking until its right. I'd say it's the next best thing to being there.

Definitely. Remote tuning. Im considering doing the same thing with a guy out of New Orleans (well, getting a second set of eyes to look over my current tune, at least).

I had it done on my last car (Supercharged 4.6L Mercury Cougar) a few years back and the guy did a great job. Took it to a dyno afterwards and the local tuner told me he didn't think he could have gotten much (if any) better.

Cool, the guy I'm talking to is I think pretty much the national Moates/BE (Binary Editor)/Ford tuning guru. He runs both the efidynotuning.com and eectuning.org forums.

The only problem is that if he tells me my tune is way off (doubtful I hope as I had a very reputable tuner in MO do mine) I will have to flip for that package I posted in order to be able to plug in and data log so he can remote tune it.

Willie lynch is a great guy to deal with. He's out of VA. I'm taking my car on a trailer 6 hrs so he can Dyno tune my fox. I've seen his work.
