Might Be Time For A Change.

Just got off the phone regarding blistering on the hood of my Shelby. Of course they will not help. They act like this issue is rare and no one knows that it widespread across the ford lineup. Just had the hood repaired on my wife's 2013 explorer. On the way out the door the service people tell us that it will come back and they are not sure if it will be paired then. What is that? I have been driving fords for over 30 years. I am the guy that all my friends consult when its time to get a car. I always steer them to ford. I would say I have probably put over 20 behinds into fords over the past 20 years.
My wife worked at a Chevy dealership when we met. She was driving Chevy's until I told her that's not going to work for me. Five fords later and we are still together.
Now I have to buy my 16 year old daughter her first car. Since she was born I looked forward to the day that I would take her to ford and pick out her first car. I wanted to share my love and history of the brand. I guess I have to start looking at other brands. I don't want her deal with a brand that will not stand behind their work. This really is a heart breaking day for me.
How many post on various blogs and forums will it take for ford to do the right thing? Sad day for sure.

I don't want her deal with a brand that will not stand behind their work.
Then take her to a Honda dealership. Honestly, if you want a car that will run for a million years/miles w/ little issues... My wife has had 3 Honda's since 1988. The quality is hands down one of the finest cars on the road. If she's into sporty cars, she'll probably enjoy the Civic SI. Sharp looking!

As far as issues between brands, It's not just Ford, my daily driver is an 08 Chevy Malibu. Well known transmission problems between 08-12.
Luckily Chevy just realized this and released a warranty to replace or reimburse.

Before I had converted to Ford - (my father was a Pontiac fan) - I thought I had hit the 'high' water mark in life when I went out and bought my 1st "$" car ....a 1986 Camaro IROC Z - black / blk interior - I had my share of work "junkers" .......this thing was mint (so was my mullet and my Italian gold chain horn around my neck) - except that GM had major paint issues in those years / major paint flaking off - No way to win back then and probably no way to win now - I eventually just waxed it up nice and then sold it for college, took a big hit in price ( I was not happy) but after years of no car and pretty much being poor till after grad school - I had a buddy take me for a ride in his 1991 5.0 and that was it - your hooked..........try not to let (1) one bad experience ruin your loyalty.....I've gotten into it with plenty of service ford reps - too long to post those type of stories - they fought me on warranty issues on my 1993 5.0 (some old timer who was a jerk) - even on my 07' mustang / 2012 fusion - I just kept going to another ford dealership until I find a decent young guy who gives in to what I want, or just fixed it myself.
