Build Thread The Hoopty Chronicles - New House, New garage, New Car?

So after 2 weeks, I drove the fox to work today. A couple of things to note:

1) Having a 5 and 6 speed car can cause much confusion when it is early and the driver is not fully awake yet.
2) Fox clutch still sucks.
Maximum MOTORSPORTS clutch cable . I still have never driven another car except ones with it that are as smooth and soft in fox regards . And my car has the Centerforce dual friction in it

Yeah, I need to get on that. Hoping in May to pull the car apart. That is #3 on the list of things to fix.

I had both of the same in the red car. Weanie leg effort required to disengage the clutch.

Not to be confused w/ using your weanie as a leg.

So does the quadrant not matter much, it's the cable that makes all of the difference?
Nope my buddy had a upr triple hook quad with the fire wall adjuster and we just used the mm cable . Same results he loved it .

Dude the new Coyote is gorgeous!

Thanks man!

Had dig for this thread, Havent had time for anything for either vehicle lately. I want to go to the junk yard and get an explorer motor this weekend to clean up and toss in. It's a holiday weekend and everything is half price. Might get one for under $200. I need to locate a truck and money first, haha. We shall see how it goes.

What's more likely to happen is I will pave the area where I park it and pull the front bumper off so I can sand it down and finish the paint project before I embark on a motor project. That sounds like a better idea...

Running behind on updates. Finally poured the spot where I park the fox. 27 80# sacks. Absolutely whooped my ass as I did it all myself.

Also got me some fancy-pants hood struts for the fox this weekend for a cool $40... and another $15 in gas to get them hahaha. It WAS a good deal until the cross town commute.

MRT hood struts - "Bolts in in mintues."

...For most people that aren't Collin. Anybody run these and have MAJOR issues with the hood being thrown out of whack and also having the hood bow up in the middle? unfortunately, they were bought used and didn't come with instructions. You'd think it's nbd, but evidently, something ain't right.

I did, and for me the same thing happened on the red car. The placement of the hinge point is critical IIRC. I ended up moving the damn things after having drilled one set of holes.

FWIW. I aligned my hood when I first installed it. After I installed my redline hood struts, the hood was moved forward nearly a half inch. The gas struts put a lot of forward force on the hood when it's shut. The stock hinges have a lot of slop in them, and the struts make that slop obvious. The MRT struts probably exert even more force because of how small they are and the lack of leverage they have compared to the traditional struts. The bowing of the hood is concerning to me though. Fiberglass?

Congrats on the coyote, btw. Looks awesome in white!

Thanks Scott. The hood is a stock piece and I definitely need to move the hood back about 3/4".

It's the bow that makes me nervous. Almost like the struts reached full compression before the hood closed. Need to look into this.
