I am replacing my ball joints tomorrow, and need to know if a 95 v-6 is the same as a v-8. I also need to know if they would fit in a 89 lower control arm. I switched it over to five lug years ago from a 95 v6.

In addition, you will need a new nut for the ball joint. A Fox ball joint and a SN95 ball joint use two different nuts.

I am basing this off of the fact that I bought a set of MM control arms with SN95 ball joints already installed and it required a different nut size. You may need to research a little more yourself.

Have fun with the ball joint press if doing it by hand..... It will kick your tail end.

That being said, if buying the ball joints new, they should come with the nut and even a new cotter pin to install. (don't forget to grease them once installed.)

Yep, I just checked Autozone website, they do come with new nuts and pins.

Well, hot that one done, had to cut the old joint at about where the threads started to get the press to work, with the adapters I had to use. Now for a al I alignment, seems to wonder all over the road thought maybe the new ball joint would help but it didnt..

Have you checked the inner and outer tie rods because if they are bad they will make your car handle real bad and will cause the car to wonder. I just replaced mine last month..i did the inner and outer and they are very easy to replace .. all you need is a large pipe wrench.

Don't forget to check the rag joint on the steering column. That little rubber disk can cause bad wandering if its worn out.
