I've always liked exposed tailpipes, but I have an 03 GT which just has the cutouts for the exhaust and the pipes are entirely covered on the sides. Every once in a while I see a GT like mine driving around but with a shorter bumper that exposes the pipes on the side, they just hang under the bumper like a 94-98. I searched in vain for it on the internet for months until I finally found this photo on American muscle, it's a V6 bumper on what looks like a GT (or a V6 with exhaust?). Either way, this is the look I'd like to have on mine. So, is that the way to go about it, just swap my GT bumper for a V6? Or is it more complicated than that? Thanks!

I'm pretty sure that is just a plain ol' V-6 with dual exhausts.

I don't think there is any reason you can't just put on a V-6 bumper cover and change the exhaust so they hang lower, if that is what you want. You'd probably want to get some extra long tips or something to clean up the looks of the GT exhaust pipes.

I have a 2003 GT Convertible and put Flowmasters 40 Series original on and were too loud for me, so I went back with my stock mufflers. When the shop put the old ones on, they must have added about 2 inches of pipe for whatever reason and now they stick out past the bumper. It looks good and this may be an option you might want to look into.
