Hey everyone, I've been searching for a solution to my issue that has been getting worse these past few weeks.
While driving on semi rough roads there is this loud noise coming from the front left of the my mustang. My wife described it as a bucket of bolts being shaken. I've gotten underneath it a couple times now trying to find it with no luck.
It's a 2005 v6 with 141k miles on it.

Any ideas on where to start?

At 141K it could be anything from the tie rod ends to ball joints. What have you serviced on the car's front end since you have owned it?

Things like the struts usually go first. Ball joints can be dangerous if bad and left unattended too long and front end bushing deteriorate over time. It's usually best to take it in and have it looked at unless your able to at home.

I bought it December 2013, and so far the only thing I have done to the front end is the brakes.. a friend of mine said to look at the ball joints and bushings. I have only looked at the tie rod ends so far and they appear fine, and I have seen some bad ones before.

Also I've been wanting to get some new suspension parts put on to make it ride like new but I've gotta fix problems before upgrading.

Look for any discharge coming from the struts as well. Usually when a strut goes bad it has a stuttering bucket of bolts sound.
141K is about time to change struts...

Thanks for the info guys. I have a friend look at my struts and he confirmed that the rubber mount on top of the strut was worn out pretty bad. Ordered some new mounts and will put em in as soon as they get here
