I Was Given A 97 Mercury Mountaineer, What To Salvage

So my in-laws have given me their 1997 Mercury Mountaineer. I'm 99% sure it has the gt40 heads, so I am going to pull the entire engine and trans. I am also going to take the wheels and tires because they will fit my ranger. My question is, is there anything else that I should take off of it before I take it to the junk yard? Thanks for the help

Pull the computer & computer wiring harness - both body and engine harnesses. If you can't use them, someone on eBay can...$$$ in your pocket.

Obviously you would keep the intake manifold to go with the GT40 heads. Also keep the throttle body. It's a 65mm and with some minor mods works very well on the foxbody. It's what I have on my 92.

I would leave the engine just the way it is, swap out the cam, valve springs and timing cover and run the thing.

Hey guys thanks for the info, sorry I haven't responded earlier. I think I will plan on taking the entire rear, I will also pull the engine and trans. The wiring harness will also come out to be sold, just had a kid and I can use that money on my fox. Thanks for all the good information.

Where are you located....I happen to have a need for an additional 3.73 and 31 spline carrier.
