There was a person here who pays/paid people to work on his stuff that once made the infamous quote that "You shouldn't waste your time with a home built motor because it will not last as long as a professionally built one"
Of course, anyone with half a brain knows that that is a completely false statement. It also lends itself to the thought that whoever would make such a statement has no idea what he's doing and needs to pay someone to do his work..
Nobody said people who pay others don't know how to do the work, But some people who do pay others to have certainly told off on themselves with dimwitted comments.
Any idea who the dimwit that made that comment is?
Here, i'll give you the quote since you prefer to add your own spin on it.
"Explorer engines are dirt cheap. Rebuilding your 302 will certainly cost more than a JY explorer engine and probably be less reliable"
I know you think everyone should build every piece of their car.
But thinking everyone should build their own engine is ignorant.
I do electrical work, do you think I should pour my own foundation too?
And who have I paid ever?
You don't know me, nor should you pretend to.
I have very qualified friends that lend a hand and advice, along with having a car lift in my garage.
The last time I paid someone to do anything is about 20 years ago.
Just because I didn't build my shortblock, doesn't mean I paid either.
I still find it ironic, that everyone must build everything in your eyes, yet you buy an On3 turbo kit... Kinda hypocritical isn't it? Even worse when you do spend money, you buy garbage.
Here's an idea, leave me out of your posts and i'll leave you out of mine.
Something I already do, so it won't be all that tough for me.
