Progress Thread My Kenne Bell Twin Screw'd Foxbody thread, (new addition to the family)

I discovered and talked with another performance shop in the Spokane area. The guy was really nice and talked to me on the phone for quite a while. He has a large shop and my car would be stored inside. They seem to do mostly imports but are very knowledgeable with domestic V8's. They said they could take my car today and get working on it within the next 3-4 days.

My thought process is-
This new shop pros/cons are:
They seem nicer right out of the gate and are saying all the right things (like a guy trying to get in a girls pants)
My car will be stored inside (pro)
Their dyno is down and they'd want to use somebody elses dyno (this means my car returns to where it is now!!) (con)
This shop charges $95 p/hr, shop I'm at now is $55 (con)
New shop is relocating in 1 month to another bigger facility, this could be really bad.
I would have to tow my car from one place to the other and hope I my car doesn't become an ornament over there as well. Everything is a risk either way.
Allegedly the new shop just competed against OKC in an upcoming episode of Street Outlaws (i love that show).

@hoopty5.0
Yes I did talk to the guy while he was wrenching on a beautiful old Impala and he said my car is next up. Is he lying? Quite possibly he is but that is the rock and the hard spot we put ourselves in when outsourcing work.

Anyone have a magic crystal ball they can lend me? I'd really like to know who isn't going to f*ck me over.

With no Mustang, nothing to order for now I've been doing some home improvement around the house as well as playing with the kids and relaxing. I found my old CD case from back in the day and started listening to the music again that I listened to as a teenager. Gotta say the music is timeless and fits today more than it did more than 20+ years ago.

I pulled this CD out and for some reason I thought of the pupular Canadians on this site, @Gearbanger 101 and @Noobz347 , know of this Punk band? BTW, I'm big time into punk.

I'm happy to admit, I haven't a clue who these guys are. Of course, I grew up in Canada during an era when kids still played outside, clipped baseball cards to our bikes and only one in every 10-kids I knew owned an Atari....and even then were only allowed to play with it on weekends. I also didn't have parental issues, the urge to wear a lot of black, experiment sexually with other boys, or cut myself during my teenage years either.

Maybe things were different in WA? :shrug: :D

Seriously though, can't say I've heard of them, but I was always more of a Black Sabbath, Van Halen, AC/DC classic hard rock kind of guy.

I'm the same as you with musical selection when I was young but the punk scene blew up in southern California with Social Distortion, Bad Religion, Pennywise, etch, the local punk scene was huge and I became a fan of Propagandhi. As far as I know not a lot of punk comes from your area although Rise Against is good too.

++ on Everything you said.

Well,...... all except the music preference.;)

You can tell the age of people by their childhood memories. I'm gonna put your's at late 40's, early 50's?

** To FMLvr Sorry to use your thread as a walk down memory lane.:rolleyes:

And equally sorry that your car is trapped in the netherworld of shops that take on more work than what they can manage. I can say that I'm somewhat in the same place....(cept my car is in the garage) In my case, I have yet to hear from "the guy that owns the shop, that has the dyno, that came referred", despite the form he had me fill out and my agreement to pay 600 to slot the car for a dyno session. :nonono:

What you are describing sounds like Emo/Goth losers. Punk is different but there is a little bit of the whiney "I don't like my parents" crowd.

The shop my car is at is a small 1 man shop that employs a part time helper. I'm sure he's taking on more than what he can handle and I'm sure my "crap" 5.0 is getting passed over to please the owners with really nice cars like the LS3 swapped 69 Camaro and the classic Impala that's there. O'well, wait and see. I'm actually enjoying doing other things for a change. For instance, my garage hasn't been this clean and organized ever!

That's my plan for this upcoming weekend-clean/organize the garage. My oldest is heading to school and I finally get to do some crap I've been putting off. And this(garage) is priority #1.

I'm going to start working on my wall shelving and tool storage soon. This peg board looks like the best bang for the buck

^^^ This is what I did. Only the SN axles are longer. You need ranger axles.
Correction....you need 2-left side (drivers side) Ranger axles. The Ranger rear end is offset from the center and the axles are two different lengths.

What year Ranger? 2wd? 4wd? Specific engine size?

Any year Ranger, in any configuration will do the trick. '83-'93 Rangers had 29.125" axles. The later '93-'up Rangers got slightly wider 30.125" axles. The right side axles of all '83-up Rangers are all too short to fit the Mustang rear axle tubes. The FX4's, got 31-spline axles.
