Fox Fender Rub - 245/45/17

I have some annoying fender rub on the drivers side of the Silver GT. I thought these tires would fit!!!!

The tires are 245/45/17. They are stout tires, BFGoodrich Comp2's. On the passenger side the fender doesn't rub unless the tire is very low (20lbs). On the driver side it rubs when going over bumps. I noticed that there is a sheet metal screw holding the liner to the fender on the drivers side. The passenger side has nothing.

Going to remove that sucker, has anyone rolled fenders using the ol wooden bat technique?

Thx

That is a stock setting, but Jack @ MM recommends -1.0 to -1.25 if you do ANY spirited street driving. These cars benefit greatly from slightly more neg. camber/pos. caster

I've been running -1.5 to -1.7 for years now with no odd tire wear to speak of,improper toe will wear out tires long before the dialing in of more - camber. The specs I've been using for years is -1.5 deg camber,+3 deg caster ,and 0(Delrin bushings) to 1/16 toe in with great results.

I would highly recommend purchasing the tools to do your own alignments. As often as I had the front suspension apart for me it saved me all kinds of cash.
Pick up a caster/camber gauge and for the toe use a 2x4 and metal shelf brackets creating a large vernier caliper.Taking your time(and getting the car as level as humanly possible) you can get your alignment closer to your specs than the alignment tech cares to do,in their mind in the ballpark is often good enough.

Good luck

Damn thing rubs over bumps...only drivers side... even with passengers and weight. I am killed on time but not creativity!

The rub is right by the top of the tire, by the lip of the fenderwell, and of course full lock, I just avoid full turn in.

I will look to get it to -1.25 and / NO RUB \ :D

How low is your car?

Eibach sportlines... 1.5 up front...

I took the Louisville Slugger to the inner fender. So far that has really cleared it nicely. It only scrubs now on the most severe bumps... unfortunately the roads here in White Plains are similar to a third world country's brutal on a car or SUV, really really ironic because the county pays the highest taxes in the nation. Hillary's roads are well paved though, hmmm. They must have forgotten my neighborhood!
