I have a 94 Mustang GT Convertible. I have taken out the AODE. Putting in a T5 setup. I have a #242 T5 out
of a 95 Cobra and a 94-95 T5 bellhousing. The shifter location is perfect. The location for the mount on the
transmission is forward of the crossmember and the stock bracket is too tall. Has anyone else encountered
this, can you tell me what is going on.

There's a metal bracket that bolts between the T5 tranny and the tranny mount. If you're missing that, you won't be able to bolt the tranny to the crossmember. Oh, and the crossmember is the same for all 94-95 cars, V6 or V8, AODE or T5. I did a Cobra drivetrain install on my 94 V6 AODE, and simply used my original crossmember. Here's an eBay auction for the bracket:

And a better (if smaller) photo of the bracket:

Also, cars with a manual transmission have an extra shifter "hump" welded to the frame. This will raise the manual shifter up a couple of inches. I can't find a photo anywhere online right now, and there are no aftermarket replacements. I got mine from the wrecked Cobra donor car, where I got the Cobra drivetrain from. Here's some info from Latemodel Restoration, who has a transmission hump and install video for 79-93 Mustangs:

Thanks for the help everyone. Keep the responses coming. I am really excited to get the project done. Also what did you do for the neutral safety, the back up switch and I am taking the air pump off(will that trigger a malfunction code?).

Thanks Chythar.
i too considered welding, but was too lazy to get into storage for my welder at the time.

Reverse switch will be "plug and play" with the correct 94-95 mustang v8 tranny harness, or you can modify the aode harness.

For the neutral safety, there is a jumper wire up near the clutch pedal that must be removed (or is it inserted? I always forget which.).

Anyways, someone will chime in with the definitive answer soon.
