My 02 mustang gt is feeling sluggish and like it struggles to accelerate. Also when coming to a stop to turn it revs (making Noise) but doesn't accelerate for 1-2 seconds. So far I replaced the fuel filter, new NGK spark plugs, seafoam(no difference), royal purple 5w30, pypes off road x-pypes w/ violator catback aka the beast, sr cold air intake. Cleaned maf sensor and throttle (no difference). I use the ford recommend regular gas (shells).
I just want to know what I can do to get it running the way a stang should but I don't have the money to spend on stuff that isn't the cause. Thank you in advance for your time.

Manual or auto?
Did you install the exhaust?

Pull the codes again and double check all connections fluids
Auto. No I had a shop do it since I didn't have anything to cut the stock pipes.
In the morning it never happens till later on in the day when I come to a stop and turn or when I come to a red light then it turns green and I press the gas before coming to a compete stop and it sounds like a revving noise but it doesn't move for .5-1 second.
It's really hard to explain but I hope that helps.

What is later in the day?
After a few miles? Once the car gets hot?
Still need to pull codes.

After noon. Texas heat. I'm a hundred percent sure the code is failing cats since the light turned on after two days of installing the off road x-pipes but tomrrow my bama tunner should be here and I'll be able to check the codes again.
I just hope it's nothing out of my budget.

The Trans is computer controlled if there is a problem it may show up. If the car revs but does not move then it is Trans related.... hopefully it is limp mode causing the issue but chances are its not.

I was dreading a tranny problem. How much am I looking at?
I already feel bad that I bought it for 10k since I don't have parents to co-sign for me and I was left with no choice but a no creidt required lot.

Let's see what the codes are, any advanced auto or Napa can pull the codes for you for free.
Get a printout or write me all down and we can go from there.[/QUOTE

I'll let you know tomorrow. I just need to get my mind of it right now. It's my first car bought with my own money so it's a bad feeling knowing I got ripped off and it could be a transmission problem. I hope it's not.
I've gotten so many different answers around here from a ford master tech to a guy who messed up his auto stang switching gears while still moving. But yeah I'll let you know tomorrow. Thanks for your help.

Ford P1000 DTC Drive Cycle

Clear the codes with the scanner and drive it normally. DO NOT clear them before running the scan, finish the test to the end and don't unplug the scanner mid scan......

Otherwise it may be mechanical, like a bad converter
Wow. It's like a brand new pony. It takes off quick and when I turn or come to a stop it no longer stops while revving. The sluggish feel is also gone. All with the street tube and clearing the p1000 code. Can't wait to try the race tune.
