The extra size is in width not height so no help on the rpms.I have 275's now but the compound is too hard so poor traction. I know that softer compound alone will help dramatically. My main reason to opt for 285's is to have a bit taller tire. With the newly added boost, the 3.73 gears are running out pretty quick.
You mean a 285 40 is the same height as a 275 40? You sure about that?
I lied lol. I looked it up. There is about 1mph difference at any given rpm and you would still rpm thru the powerband the same(very minute difference). Just playing devils advocate and thinking out loud. Not trying to be abrasive...just saying
