I've always had great success with the Ultra Pro Magnums, heck we saw over 9000 rpms with those suckers and never skipped a beat.
I'm using harland sharp rockers now and haven't been as happy with them as I have been in the past with Comp products

They have incredibly large trunions, I run a spring that is 350 on the seat closed (not sure of open spring pressure) and never had an issue with them whatsoever

i was running a set of the tfs ones that come in the kit, the trunnions are real loose side-to-side and make a lot of noise. bought a set of comp ultra golds to replace them, never got to run them before the motor broke, but the trunnions are much tighter and i'm sure would have quieted the thing down. just fyi.

Good to know, I got springs from Ed, they are AFR's ls springs part # 8019, I forget pressures but they're relatively stout.
Any chance anyone's run the Ultra Pro Magnum's with stock (short) valve covers??
I guess I need this info before I order or they'll hit with my luck.
Pretty sure both these and the Ultra Gold will fit. Last set were same size as the Golds, I'm pretty sure, and there were no clearance issues. Removed baffle years ago when put "cobra" rocker arms on E7's...... the good old days
