Electrical 87 Electrical Mess

Alright i will get one off ebay and see if it works. Its jist weird that it worked fine before changing dash harmess. Also did you see the recent two pictures i posted? Do they have anything to do with the turn6 signals they are thr same color as thr turn signal wires

Hazard flasher defrost switch ?
And where is this standered color chart ?

The hazard flasher and the turn signal flasher are two different flashers. The hazard flasher shuts off the turn signals and the turn signals don't work when the hazard flasher is on. The flasher on the front side of the fuse panel is for the hazard lights. The turn signal flasher is mounted in a different location. The turn signal flasher location changes from year to year on 79-93 Mustangs

Did you not get the 89 Mustang wiring diagram set I emailed to you? Have you even bothered to look at it?
The STANDARD CIRCUIT CHART (BY COLOR) for Ford wiring is in there on page 9 of the PDF document.

The two spare wires with colors that match the diagram I posted are probably for the turn signal indicator lights

Forget anything you think you know and look carefully at the diagram I posted.
There is no relay in the turn signal circuit. Electrically it looks just like what I posted.
See The Wiring - How Turn Signals Work to learn how turn signals work.

A flasher and a relay are different animals and they work differently.

Alright i dont think i got the documents you said u sent. And i changed the turn signal flasher . Do i need to change thr panel where the flasher 4 way button and defroster are on ? Also my wiring is dead at the flash at the light blue wire why?

Fix the turn signals to where they work as factory new. Do no chase other rabbits until that is accomplished.

Then and only then start trying to understand the other problems you may have.

@jrichker after looking the eires and double checking voltage. Turns out my dumbass forgot to plug the turn signal flasher back in to the socket. So i do have power to the hazard flasher switch. But i cant draw any volts on the orange yellow wire. Suggestions ? Maybe the wire needs cut out and put a new wire in ?

@jrichker i do not have any power at the blue amd white wire or the green and white wire. Tried eaxh in all three positions on the turn signal lever

No power on the orange/ yellow wire means no power at the white/blue wire or green/white wire.

I am out on Thanksgiving vacation and will not be available until after Tuesday. I suggest that you think about the diagrams and instructional material I provided and figure it yourself.

The flasher for the turn signals is a little round silver thing like the one in the front of the fuse box...sometimes they are light blue and plastic sometimes they're metal. They are usually only a couple bucks at a parts store. The turn signal flasher is located under the dash (usually) hooked to the metal frame under the steering column. The connector has a horizontal and a vertical female pin in an L shape. This pic is in an 89 mustang

If I get some time when I'm off this weekend I'll try to take pics of my multi function switch and the results on the multimeter. In jrichters defense he has given you all the tools to diag it in this post. I'm guessing that this electrical stuff and schematics are new for you.....I understand....we've all been there.

Yeah im not very good with electrical and schematics . I have chased wires and tested wires replaced things and still no luck. I have replaced and checked the fuses on the fuse box. I have replaced the turn signal flasher. I have replaced the ignition switch. I have replaced the hazard /defrost button. I have replaced the turn signal lever thing. I have replaced about everything in the circuit. I have power all the way to the orange yellow wire that goes into the multifunction switch. But i have no power to the white green and White blue wires. I have noticed these two plugs one on each side of the car thay have the same colors as the turn signal wires but i do not know where they would plug in at. I juat really need help figuring this out. Never had this problem before replacing the harness. I am going to post a pic of the two plugs one on each sode of car maybe you know where the hook up at or whay they are for.

I'll go out and check in the am... There are a few connectors that don't plug into anything on these cars.

Not yet ....been burning leaves all day. I'll get out there in the am. Wish I woulda taken pics when I had my dash out for the heater core.

That's nuts...hope he learns his lesson. I've been grounded with all this rain in Maryland. I've been looking for another house with a garage, but right now my shed is my work shop. 12 x 16. My car is outside. I used to have my own shop so I didn't even think about one when I got this house. Hopefully, I can get at least a two car garage very soon.

Thats weird im in the process of buying my forst house lol. And i was out messing with the car again. I have power all the way down to the turn signal wires. No power leaving tho. I can give them power and they stay on but wont flash. When i turn the turn signal to the left or right the orange yellow wire still has power and my turn signals recieve no power. If im not mistaken doesnt turn yellow orange wire lose power and the turns recieve it ?
