So having more than one project is a bad thing? Got it.
I don't see an issue for buying a car and storing it for a project later or selling it when the time comes to make more room or make a little cash. If you've got the room I say go for it. I've been blessed to have great wife that lets me have a few extra cars because she understands my hobbies. I currently work on all of them.and some may be sold to support the build of another. This is one of the reasons the car community is so great. Wheeling and dealing and meeting other folks with the same passion.
Life happens and people have to sell their "finally scored ....." car or they bit off more than they could chew. Still don't see the issue. I love this hobby and will buy many more cars so long as I am able. As for that Mach 1... good luck to that gentleman or the guy who picks it up after him. Maybe I'll get a crack at it myself.
And maybe everyone is doing a coyote swap where you are from, but I have yet to see one in person and would love a chance at putting that powerhouse in a foxbody.i think a 4 eyed T-stop with that motor would be awesome.
Dave, it's your car do what makes you happy. I vote coyote swap and with your painting skills, that car will be bad ass
*Sigh*
Why is it that it's always somebody
other than the guy I'm referring to that gets offended by something I say?
Old Blue, If you want 15 project cars sitting around in various stages of completion, by all means, do it. Who's gonna stop you?
You can spread yourself thin across all of them, and do this little thing here, or that major thing there, and again, if that's what you want,.....do it.
My point is/was that having 5 separate projects with everyone of them needing as much as any "rescued" project typically needs usually results in 5 cars that will never be nice.
And to that I'll repeat,....If having 5, 5's is more desirable to you than 1 10, then again,......do it.
Everybody here knows how much time and effort it takes to restore a Fox to it's former glory if you choose that path. It's a full time job. When that full time effort gets diluted because of work/life/finances,..then that one project can span years. And now we're gonna add two or three other projects into the mix?...
What does the finger say?
I don't know about you,..but my goal is not to
work on a car forever,..my goal is to
finish the thing so I can enjoy what took years to build.
And to answer your comment about the scarcity of Coyote swaps,....Yeah,....When you compare them to the sea of windsors they'd sit in, they still seem rare, and I'm not talking about my "neighborhood" specifically. I'm talking about the hundreds of times it's already been covered in every ford magazine.
But then again,...I'm not saying that you cant go right out and drop one of those in one of your projects, any Ford engine in Ford body is still preferable to an LS in a Fox.
