Just got a 2001 'stang 'vert with 38,000 miles on it (Sweet!) from a local dealer. It was traded in buy a guy whose wife used it almost exclusively to - get this - drive her grandchildren to school. So it's in pretty nice shape. Anyway, my problem is that it's a little annoying to reach back to get the seat belt from the retention clip attached to the headrest - it sits back too far. I'm thinking of attaching a plate to the bracket so I can move it forward a couple inches - any amount of adjustment would help - and am wondering whether anybody else has done anything like this, and what would be the most elegant solution.

Thanks!

I reach for my seatbelt down low, using my left hand in the drivers seat.....no problem. In fact, I have removed those retainers because they hit the light bar when the seats are reclined. Moving them forward on a plate might get into your shoulder if you got rearended.
