Has anyone done this ? From what I understand the 1999-2004 rotors are 13" OD, 1995 oem are 11" OD. Sounds like a reasonable upgrade if you can get it from a junkyard at a good price.

My understanding is that the 99-04 GT had the same 11" rotors, but had a two-piston caliper instead of our single-piston caliper. The 13" rotor setup is the same for 1994-2004 Cobras, and the New Edge Bullitt and I believe the Mach Ones as well.

Gotcha, thanks. I guess there's not that much improvement with a dual piston caliper with the same rotor diameter. I"m looking for more holding power on the starting line at the track. Slim chance to find cobra brakes at the junkyard.

Actually the 99-04 GT calipers are a great upgrade because the dual Pistons spread the calipers force over a greater pad area. You get more bite.

Rotor diameter does help with braking power, but it also helps cool the brakes in a road racing application due to more mass.

Basically, cobra 13" brakes great for road racing, GT 2-piston brakes great for drag racing as smaller diameter rotor takes less power to spin. The calipers will offer good bite in a single hard stop.

Both caliper swaps require a MC change as well. When using the 99-04 2piston GT calipers, you will want to run a 1993 cobra 1" bore MC. It's a direct swap onto 94-95 GTs

This is a great upgrade. Cost for calipers and pads from advance auto with 20% off is $115. The pads are much bigger, and there is a weight saving advantage too, new calipers are alum.
