How many fox mustangs out there still have a stock HO intake on them?

:D

If you decide to go with the explorer 3-bar gt40 heads, then you will have to get them milled down a bit. They have 65cc combustion chambers which will lower the compression ratio on a stock 5.0 bottom end. Ford milled them down to 60 cc for the 93'-95' 5.0 cobra. Stock vs stock, the gt40p's create more power, especially torque. They also burn better due to the improved combustion chamber design and the intake and exhaust ports have also been improved compared to the regular gt40's. Even though the exhaust valve is the same size as the stock E7 heads, it still flows better than the older gt40 exhaust with the 1.54 valve due having more velocity and better port shape.

How many HP are the shaved GT-40 heads/ Exploder intake and the Gt-40P heads/Exploder intake worth? I hate not keep the EGR functional after restoring the missing pollution stuff to keep the computer happy. I have a tmoss ported EGR Explorer intake ready for when I change the stock looking But really ported stuff. I like iron heads, but I like the power aluminum heads brag about. I wonder if I should save up and skip the Ford factory heads.

You can get the intake with the EGR passage. Early exploders with the -BA lower had it.

the GT-40P heads lack the thermactor ports, so you can't pump O2 into the heads to feed the precats. however, that only happens when the engine is cold. When it warms up, the smog pump pumps air down the tube into the main cats. So just make sure the car is nice and hot when you go smog it.

Short answer depending on TB, CAI, Injectors.....250-260 with stock cam, with X303 and TFS1 cams 270-280ish.without touching the heads.

You won't see 300hp with bowl work, bigger valves, valve job (backcut and angled), and tuning, but after machine work = used aluminum head territory

eBay prices have been going up. Seeing exploder intakes creeping up to almost $200 plus shipping these days.

I'd attribute that to the discontinuation of the 1993 cobra Chinese intake

Fox everything has been creeping up. They aren't as cheap to work on add they were a few years ago. Catalogue parts are roughly the same, but the used part market has doubled in price. I can get 250 for an explorer intake with rails, 250 for stock gt40 heads 400 for gt40s cleaned and with new springs. I can dump a complete running 5.0 ho for 400, almost twice what I got 6 years ago. A 2.3t I can get 500, these things are only getting more valuable. I don't even throw away broken parts anymore.

Most untouched gt40 setups are worth about 250ish to the wheels. That's about 75hp over stock

Amazing. About a decade ago I picked up an explorer setup pretty much out of boredom. Guy couldn't give it away. Told him $60 I'll come grab it right now. Got an early explorer upper and lower with EGR, fuel injectors, and 65mm TB. I really only wanted it for the TB, but now I'm considering getting the lower ported so I can install it on my car. Was gonna take off my ford-made 1993 cobra intake so I could run the explorer and this plate. Then I realized it would be upside down. [emoji17][emoji22]

I'm past running nostalgic Windsor parts. They are on my car for now, but I see an lsx style one pc intake, as well as cathedral port aluminum heads and edis system being doable in the future.
