having multiple fox bodies over the years, Im starting to miss the abundance of parts, the ease of working on them, and the cost. Searching CList for a few days the only ones that are as cheap as they were are rollers and beat to hell and they still want $2k :(. Looking for a cheap daily drivers with potential i came across a fairly clean 87 cougar black on black with the 302 / AOD AND AC! (i'm in TX!) for $1200.

After looking into it i realized they aren't extremely heavy, curb weight of 3100lbs. However they are rated at 150hp!:crap: Why is this? I'm thinking a cheap junk yard build up would be a HUGE improvement. GT40 head and Intake and I'm assuming, correct me if i'm wrong, but like the Lincolns they are probably all speed density so hold off on cam for now, or put a factory fox's cam in it.

OR is there just something completely different about these motors? I can't find anything online about them.

someone please help I'm looking at getting the car this weekend if there isn't anything just stupid about the it.

Non ho engine. E6 heads, non ho intake, non roller Cam, flat top pistons, and I believe 17lb fuel injectors. Utilized a different firing order and a wet noodle for an ecu. It was a cruiser. Great on the highway.
If the car intrigued you then a roller 5.0 and a9 swap is a direct bolt in.

Thank you so much!, I think i'm going to go grab the car on friday
in the pics the body looks good (just paint or clear coat in paint on the top of the car is fading)
then the interior looks well maintained and like previously stated the AC works :)

looks like new "foxbody"ish project will be underway!

Also looks like the 87 is a VERY easy swap looks to be plug and play, wire for MAF, get a computer , new motor of course then go with it.

Explorer motor swap. Problem swapped. hell, you could even T5 swap it if you really wanted.

5-lug Sn95 cobra brakes, new wheels. Pretty much just a mustang with different sheet metal on it.
