Tires are 245/40R18 and 275/35R18. Not the wheels I want but the deal was too sweet, I celebrated by buying new tires, something I never did for any of my foxes before. The S197 wheels with SN95 spindles/axles work well on the fox.

Looks good man! I like rare and unique combinations like that.. Kind of why I chose the 2010 GT wheels that went on my car.

yeah I tried searching for S197 wheels on a fox online and it's a rare thing for sure. Just sucks that my 'new' wheels are only 8" wide but for now it's fine for me.

Well, they make repro oem style wheels for sn95 cars in wider sizes. That's what I went with. Probably not as inexpensive as the deal you got...

I like it. I do see the newer wheels come up on cl cheap, I'm just on the fence about anything bigger than a 17" wheel on a fox.

I remember it being so taboo when it comes to anything bigger than 17. It took me a lot of research but I like 18's, it's not "too much" at all (imo). But it is my limit, 18's will punish you a little on bad roads lol

In think 18s can look OK if they are the right style. I prefer 17s but with most cars coming with 19 and 20" .... meh just too much. Foxes look like they are rolling on wagon wheels at that point.

I'm kinda liking the new S550 wheels a lot. I think 19" might be a bit too big though.

Tons of 14" 4-piston take off brakes available for cheap on CL though. $300 or so for FoMoCo equivalent "brembos". Too bad you need a big wheel to run them

The only issue I have with most of the 17" wheel packages sold today is their available width choices.

First off, 9" wide wheels have no business on the front end of a fox body, yet that's what most sets consist of. The only tire that looks right in a 17x9 wheel is a 275/40/17. Unfortunately, you're not getting one of those up front without a fight....especially on a lowered Fox. Not to mention, they stick out way to far with a Fox offset.

Secondly, they should offer a 9 1/2" rear wheel. They could still be designed with the "deep dish" look we all love, yet wouldn't be so wide that anything short of a 315 would look tight on them. The 10-10.5" wheel works well on an SN95, but on a fox, it requires beating the snot out of the inner fender well area with a BFH to fit. Not to mention, 315" tires are limited in selection and are damn near double the price of a 275".

17x8's with a 245/45/17 up front and 17x9.5's with 275/40/17's would be just about perfect on a Fox.

My ride is nice and comfy with eighteens. Maybe it's my IRS and coil overs that make it so  I'll never go back to seventeens!

BTW, nice coupe!
