I found a 2005 GT Deluxe with just under 95k miles for sale at a dealer in SC. Listed at $11,500, can probably haggle some with the price. I was wondering if anybody has had any issues or has concerns about this particular model?....any specifics I should be looking for that would draw me towards it or steer me away from it?!
I'm not a fan of the plastic guards on the front of the hood and over the windows, assuming I can remove those.
Would also replace the wheels and tires. http://www.jimhudsontoyota.com/auto/used-2005-ford-mustang/11500400/
Any information or advice would be appreciated.

I don't like to buy cars with after market stuff on it cause often the former owners rode car hard. I worked on cars for 25 years and found more factory parts on . Better off you are .

95,000 is a lot of miles regardless of price, yikes!

Dude, it's an 11 year old car...how is that a lot of miles? My 2005 has just over 90K on it. I only drive it about 6-7 months out of the year, but I drive it every day from spring to early fall. It's hard to find even 5-6 year old used cars with less than 100K on them anymore.

100,000 miles is the equivalent to a 70 year old man.

That was true back in the 1970s but with modern engines lasting upwards of 200k miles, a 100k mile engine is more like a 40 year old man these days. When properly maintained and treated with respect, a 100k mile engine might have less wear than other engines with a much lower mileage. I've seen taxis rack up 500+k miles with the engine still original and running smoothly.

I bought my 06 new in Feb 06. It has 214,000 miles on it, still rock solid. Bought my 88 new too, it has 357,000 on it. It needed head gaskets at 266,000, and of course, things like water pumps, fuel pumps and alternators. The 5 speed had to be reuilt on the 88 too. The 06, Front brakes pads at 120,000. Rear at 88,000 (Yep rear wore out first). A couple batteries. HVAC blower resistor. Inner and outer tie rod ends. Just now did the alternator. Sounds like I need a left rear wheel bearing, if so it'll be shafts and bearing for both sides. Nothing else. I changed the plugs to the 7989 to avoid the breakage. Still has original clutch, fuel pump, water pump, and everything else. So a Mustang with around 100,000 wouldn't bother me at all.

regarding your signature quote on America.....So America is not at the Olympics, just athletes are? How about all the friends and family we have in the Military? If were not actually fighting then were at the mall? Thats ridiculous. Every time I read that I find it more and more offensive. Who funds the Military? The soldiers? I love my country and I am just as patriotic about it even though I am not in the Military, maybe I had an injury and they wouldn't take me? So I am now less American? Now I am at the mall? America is at war! I hope your quote was something you made up because it is in my opinion very offensive as an American. So according to your Theory, no one in Israel is at the mall because Military service is mandatory for 2 years by males and females from 18 -20 years of age. :flag::flag::flag::flag::flag::flag::flag:

When you've served 25+ years then you can lecture me. That aside, this is the tech forum. You have a beef? PM me about it.
