Rehashing The Re-hash

Yep.... that's what we all said...

Bought the car stock 4 years ago
I'd be happy with an HCI making 300RWHp - did it
Id'e be Happy with a V3 making 450 rwhp - did it

So....... now when my stock block goes......... and my AOD......and my 28 spline axles

I can spend another $20k on a Coyote swap, new trans, and 33 spline axles and tru trac... and 5 lug swap... and smooth the inner fenders...and battle boxes... and a MM K member....and......... get the picture?

It's never over .. ask Scott, Jeff, or MadMike.... you can EASY drop $30-50k in one of these cars without blinking an eye
I hit that wall 10 years ago. Factory stock cars were coming out with 350-450hp and a warranty and dead nuts even streetability. For the vast majority of us that meant a fox that was insufferable except for on the track. I cut my teeth on f-bodies and BBC engines, but now......meh Tahoe's and suburbans were making that kind of HP. The coyote has opened that window for fox owners to have a power/weight ratio to run sub 12 second times and still have AC and power steering and not reek of race gas or exhaust. I enjoy the simplicity of a bolt on fox but given a chance to start clean I'd pounce on a coyote swap right away.

Or even better!...... It's a crazy idea.....

Buy a car that comes with a coyote?

You know I'm already working on that. I'm just speaking fix
Foxes in general. Otherwise we skip the last 50 years of mustang and just buy bellybuttons.

But I like my belly button...

Seriously, my son and I were talking about coyote swaps in foxes the other day. Owning both an old car and a new car, I think the coyote would definitely make the fox potentially faster right out of the box, but I don't know if that engine belongs in a fox. I'm afraid it would lose it's 5.0 nostalgic character. Everybody has their opinion of course, but imho, the fox is rough around the edges, uncomfortable, loud, obnoxious and raw. That's what makes them great. Coyotes aint that. Apples and oranges. Just my .02.

And this is exactly my line of thought. Honestly I at wot I think a coyote would feel similar in a fox. You don't have the drive, steering, or suspension that you have in a s550. As for people like madmike and myself that just want to go to sonic and get a burger and shake.... well that bolt on 5.0 ain't so bad.

I swear to gawd Allen, a coyote with twin turbos would feel pretty raw.:nice:

I agree somewhat with keeping a pushrod in a fox though, thank goodness I won't be at that stage of thought for another couple years on mine.

I'll have raw V6 pushrod power in mine:scratch:

I'd say throw a chinee turbo on it anyway. You can do that as a "disposable". The a2a is 100 or less, and the chicken peen sized turbo would be under 200 bucks.Add a 50 dollar wastegate, and a 50 dollar bov, I bet it'd make 250. The engine is currently rated to 100 hp already.

I wouldn't have it jammed up my ass if I had room for every Cologne V6 ever made,....but for 400 bucks, it may surprise you. And besides,...it's demise might be a viral You tube vid at the same time.

I know a guy that's gonna surprise a whole bunch of folks w/ a stupid 6 banger.

My little Essex might be considered the little whus that gets his underwear wrapped over it's head by a big bully I6 that you have.

Who knows though....right now, I'll be happy to see and hear it running. It's actually kind of fun for me that it's been sitting all these years and I get to be the one that gets it running. Am I sick or something?

Just thinking out loud.. Seriously, how many miles is on this car again? Has this been mentioned yet?

You are right!

If I put a twin turbo kit in it, I might be able to tweak out 125rwhp!:nonono:

in all seriousness though it would make power. its all bout torque that's what wins races.... 14psi is all you need. use the integral wastegate nothing special with a boost controller [manual] no bov [not needed and spoolback sounds cool]. ebay that bish.. up
