"1.) The main power ground is from engine block to battery: it is
the power ground for the starter & alternator."

On this picture, where does the N620042-S36 Ground go? I have my engine ground screwed into the side of the timing cover, which is aluminum. I'm questioning if I have it grounded it the right spot, and if that hasn't been the source of all my troubles this whole time?

Here's where I attached it, pretty much right where it shows, but it went into the timing cover and not the block itself. Now the cover is attached to the block, but i'm not certain how conductive aluminum is compared to the Iron block, or if there is some bolt hole I missed.

I was curious so I went out and looked at mine and yes it is bolted to the timing cover. No mistake, my car is as close to factory with only a couple mods. There is also a bracket that holds a wire harness in the same place.
Thanks to you I have found a coolant leak between the cover and the block, had other plans for the weekend, :bang:wanna help me fix it?

Ugh, so sorry about the leak! Been there done that... make sure you use teflon sealant on the bolts when you put them back in. I had to buy new bolts from LMR mine were so rusted out when I finished the rebuild.

BTW, if you are curious what sort of problems I'm facing with my very-much-non-running Mustang, details are here:
