The restriction in the exhaust on the 3v 4.6L V8 is in the exhaust manifolds and catalytic converters. The stock mufflers actually flow fairly decently, enough so that 4.0 guys use them as an upgrade.
All you did was make it louder (and sound better, if Flowmasters are your thing).
