This guy is selling an Edelbrock performer upper and lower for a great price. The only issue appears to be this bolt hole. He doesn't know why or how it got scarred up. Is this an issue?

Karthief, you are correct not a bolt hole. Here is a picture of what goes in the hole. It's a carb intake but the same layout.

The guy only wants $200 so I'd hate to pass up if it works. I think I will make a quick call to Edelbrock. If not, a forum Brother sent me a PM on a Cobra upper and lower I might consider.

Off topic, let me know when you figure out shipping on that column.

For sure going to stay efi. It's a super clean and almost all original Saleen. Any changes I do make I will keep the original parts. My goal is to get her around 300+hp, drive it once a week and race between stoplights. Maybe an annual day at a course.

I called Edelbrock and figured it out. Someone broke the temp sensor off and left the threaded end in it. We'll see if the guy can get the thing out without messing up the manifold or I move on.

Happy ending to the story. The guy is a service advisor at a dealership and had one of the service techs extract the brass and even clean it up in their parts cleaner. Got the upper and lower with new gaskets for $225. Awesome deal!

I probably won't put it on for several months. My plan right now is to square away the minor interior issues. Then I'm taking it to a shop for clutch and some oil leaks. After that I want to do heads, cam, and this intake set up.

Beautiful car, sell the performer intake and spend the extra money on a real gt40 tubular intake. That car is worthy of it (and will add value). The gt40 is only worth the extra money on a car that is really nice and I think yours qualifies.
For the record, I've had a performer, performer rpm (probably the best all around edelbrock intake, but they didn't make many of them), rpmII and a gt40 tubular.

On another note, shouldn't your car have a front bumper filler?

I'm not familiar with the front bumper filler. Mine is #78 and my understanding is the first 100 or so in 89 got the 88 Saleen trim before they changed to the 89. Not sure if that's why it doesn't have the filler.
