I didnt trim my fan dept wise, I spaced out the radiator...
Id use antiseize compound and call it a day, no need for pipe thread sealer..
Id zinc plate it, youd be amazed how cheap zinc plating is...
My 64.5 coupe with mach1 wheels and styled steel wheel center caps:
1" spacers in the front , 5/8" in the back

Those are 98 cobra's 17" x 8" with a 5.72" backspacing, same deal as the bullits... a 1" spacer in the front and 5/8" in the back makes them...
You nailed it.... I was able to move the radiator about 1/2" forward. If your changing the radiator and modifing the support might as well go...
