I just plugged it into a vacuum line and where the smoke comes out, there's the leak. :-)
I'm not sure. I actually found my leak very quickly so I didn't use all the oil that I had put in there. It'll smoke for quite a while. Yes...
I built this one last summer. Worked great! http://www.pontiacbonnevilleclub.com/forum/general-chat/topic35820.html
This is mine with...
Nope, that's a new one for me.
I put the "b" springs on my 2.3t swapped with v8 suspension. Didn't notice a rake at all. I have SVE lca's.[ATTACH]
I deleted mine and haven't had any issues. There are those that swear you should keep it. Like Red_LX alluded though, mine was in bad shape as well.
I've heard of the tall block, but I was under the impression that all of the factory offerings in those cars were standard 2.3l blocks.
If its the rag joint between the shift it's an easy fix. If it is indeed where it meets the rack then you may need a new rack. More expensive but...
[ATTACH] My 89 with a 2.3t swap. (:
+1 for the Walbro 255. Affordable insurance for future mods as well.
Odd that it wouldn't throw a code at all running that rough. Did you change the PIP when you changed out the TFI. I haven't had to change either...
Pull the house off the front of the turbo and check for shaft play. Make sure it spins freely.
I've never installed an aluminum shaft, but I've heard the one from an awd aerostar will work.
I'm afraid you may get a similar answer on this board as well. Dollar and time wise, it's simply not worth the work. Is it possible? Sure, but...
I used this method with the caulking gun and brake flaring tool. Worked great for me.
I did a similar maneuver on my 2.3 last year. You can pickup a replacement plastic line at most parts stores that will splice into yours to fix...
First I would do is pull the codes. That will tell us where to begin. What year is the car? Have you checked the tps and done a base idle reset?...
I used a turbo coupe rear for the discs.
I would think the 7.5 would hold up fine with normal driving. The 2.3t can put up good numbers, but they're not known for their gear shredding torque.
Have you scanned for codes since the shaking began. That ought to throw some kind of code.
