Here is two of my car. The color was only used in late 94's and 95's. I believe only 2,564 (this is off memory i may be a little off) of this color...

I might be thinking wrong but what type of sand paper did you use?
You don't want to rough up where the gasket sits to much or it may not sit...

Things I did wrong
- got a girlfriend so now I have no money for my car :(
with the 285/40/17 according to Belltire that is a corvette tire which they increase the cost for. So the limited size difference might not be worth...
