    Big dead spot 2.75k-2.5k RPM

I just got my Gt40p Heads, FR headers, and Typhoon intake manifold installed. Had a CAI and TB spacer installed before these goodies. Anyway, the car really doesn't have any power between 2.5k-3.5k RPM. This morning the car actually jerked forward because of the lack of power, but picked back up...

    4 lug brake upgrades

So before you all say go with 5 lug... I'm not. I can't justify the cost of them and for what I do with my car the 4 lugs are just fine. Besides, the rims that came with the car are look good (saleens). So, Going with some brakepads, new shoes for the rear drums... latemodelrestoration sells...

    Head questions...

I'm about to snag a nice pair of gt40p heads. They were sent to the shop and had a 3angle valve job. Fully assembled with the exception of rockers, head bolts, and pushrods. With that said, my current 5.0 has some basic boltons and a chip. My questions are: If I get the heads, do I need to...

    5 lug conversion

It's time to my brakes to be replaced, but instead of just putting new rotors and pads, I'm going to go with a 5 lug conversion... I do have some questions (yea, I've done my reasearch). I can't afford to do the rear discs just yet, so a rear drum kit from latemodelresto will suffice. From...

    Better braking power?

I've got a 66 Mustang. 289, T5 and cobra disc brakes so far. Everything else is mostly stock. I was expecting the braking power on these disc brakes up front to be better. They are fine, but not great. What are some ways that I can improve braking? The brakes were installed at a reputable...

Master cylinder and prop valve install questions

I'm attempting a disc brake install on my 66 mustang. I've got the discs installed, but I'm caught up on the master cylinder and prop valve install. Does anyone have any pictures or diagrams of where/how to install the prop valve? I'm assuming the hard brake lines are coming from the stock...

3 speed to 4 speed conversion

Because I posted this first in the for sale section... :rlaugh: Forgive me if this question has been asked. I just need some clarification. I've got a 66 Mustang. C code 289 with a 3 speed. What all do I need to convert to a 4 speed? Also, which transmissions will fit? Anything with a RUG...

    3-speed to 4-speed

Forgive me if this question has been asked. I just need some clarification. I've got a 66 Mustang. C code 289 with a 3 speed. What all do I need to convert to a 4 speed? Also, which transmissions will fit? Anything with a RUG code, and close ratios, correct? I have come across one with the...

    Ignition/t5/disc brake/wheel

So the next few projects for the Mustang are slowly beginning to get underway. I've got some Baer track brakes sitting in the garage along with some Falken rt-615's. I believe the size is 225/45/16. Don't quote me on that... Anyhow, any good (cheap) rims that are 16x8? I've got a 66...

    Brake issue

I was driving my 66 289 3spd the other day when the brakes decided to go out on me. They were working just fine right before and were working (more or less) after they went out. The pedal would go to the floor with no pressure. The car started rough (because it was so cold). It's a bone stock...

    tranny, wheel, cam questions

I've got a 66 coupe with a 3spd right now. I'm going to grab a t5 sometime in the next week and the conversion kit... which kit do you recommend? I also hear hooker super comps are the only long tube headers that fit a 66 with the t5. Has anyone heard anything else about this? With addition...

    If you had...

I've got a 66 with a 289 in it right now. It was rebuilt (so I'm told) about 5 years ago. The man who drove it before maybe put 2k miles on it. The engine itself is fine. I just don't know what's in there... Stock components I guess. Anyhow, everything else is stock. Carb, rad, dist, etc. etc...

Buying a Mustang. Questions and a poll...

I am looking at buying my first classic Mustang. I have been doing research for the past few weeks and finally feel like I can start looking at some Mustangs. The thing is... I like driving manuals and much as automatics. Which is more fun to drive for the classics? Auto or Manual? The reason...
