    67 Strut rods considered lemon?

I was told by a retired mechanic that 67 strut rods on Mustangs were designed poorly - I am not sure if this is true. I have looked in Mustang Catalogs - there are strut rods for 64 to 66 and 68-73. The 67's are competely alone. Does anyone have real story on this?

Engine combo & gear ratio suggestions?

I have a 302 that was rebuilt by PO - Edelbrock Performer intake and 600 CFM Edelbrock Performer carb, with Performer cam (mild). Has Hooker competition headers, with 3" collectors, adapted to 2-1/2" dual exhaust. I have wide-ratio Toploader (1st gear 2.78) and 9" rear with 2.75 open. I have...

    Driving me NUTS!

My 94 GT has been missing/bucking at partial throttle - usually between 1200-1800 rpm. I have replaced ECT and O2 sensors. I've cleaned IAT sensor. New Air Filter, New Spark Plugs (only 3 months old) and 20k miles on spark plug wires. Replaced MAF 20k miles ago. At WOT, it takes off smoothly...

    Free Play Rear end??

My 94 rear-end has about 1/8" free play at the rear end yoke (driveshaft) and about 3/8" free play at the tires. Is this normal? It currently has 111K miles - has 2.73 limited slip. I don't have any expierence with rear ends - I seem to remember tech articles about installing gears and...

    9" Rear Axle

I have observed that rotating the driveshaft about 1/8" in either direction before the tires move. Is that too much play? Is it time to replace or re-built the 3rd member?

Pride & Joy of my 68 Mustang (*dailup warning*)

Here's pictures of the results from my restoration project that went on for 17 months. Thanks to all for sharing technical advice and I've found them quite useful during the course of restoration. The most difficlut part was the repro driprail molding - I gave up and decided to polish up...

    Emblem pins

I've ordered the 'MUSTANG' letter set for deck lid and they came with plastic inserts - not like the original metal ones. They don't even fit at all - outer diameter too big for the pin holes and letter pins don't even sqeeze in the inner hole of the plastic inerts! Any ideas where I could...

    H-Pipe costs HP

According to Car Craft tech articile, H-pipe costs 10hp and loss of 8lbs torque compared to open headers. X-pipe fared better, gain of 2hp, but loss of 2lbs of torque compared to open headers, so it looks pretty much even. http://www.carcraft.com/techarticles/69238/index.html

    Coil boiling??

After driving home for lunch and just before heading back to work, I noticed a 4" puddle of oil under the engine. I popped the hood and looked around - found that oil was coming from the Flamethrower II coil!! It was coming up through the coil output (where you plug the Distributor-coil wire)...

Questions for Roller rockers in 289/302

I currently have rail rockers with screwed in studs on my 289. I am wondering if it's worth the work to replace the rail rockers with roller rockers? Any HP increase? Would I have any problem if I go for 1.7 instead of 1.6? I believe I would need the guideplates and hardened rods if I go for...

Advantages with H or X pipes?

I am curious what are the gains with the H and/or X pipe? I find it hard to believe that it will provide additional HP compared to dual exhaust.
