    Knocking at startup

    it definitely knocks at startup and has a slight knocking while revving up but its not as loud, using motorcraft filter already, guess ill just have to ride it out, im looking for a 4cyl DD but they seem to be hard to get a hold of when you want one! :)

    Anybody? TTT!! Also, my drain plug is leaking a decent amount and making my damn driveway a mess! I put a new gasket on and some teflon tape on the threads, anything else I can do to at least slow down the leaking?

    Hey guys, I'd like to start looking at a 351W for my car now that I've got the cash and most of the know-how... but when I'm looking at motors, what are some external visual distinctions that make the 351 what it is as opposed to the 302? I know they look almost exactly alike. thanks.

    Electrical harness ground?

    I couldn't get the male fittings to spread apart but I did push the female fittings closed more for a better fit and did lube the connections. Is there any fix to this problem? Is it possible for me to pick up the extension harness Ford made anywhere? Any way to make the connection tighter?

    Hey sorry it was a typo on my part I actually pulled a 98 and 63 with the car running. 63 is TPS sensor so I replaced it, still pulls the code even after resetting computer. With the key on engine off, I'm pulling 31,63,85 ..... why all of the codes all of the sudden after cleaning out the salt...

    Alright so I took apart the connectors, they were full of gunk and dirt and all that fun stuff, thorougly cleaned them then put a small amount of di-electric grease... put it all back together and.... lucky me I get a CEL.     By retapping the pan, wouldn't metal shavings get inside the pan? Wouldn't it be impossible to get them all out? Also, wouldn't the oil level reading be more accurate when the car hasn't been run because that gives all the oil time to make it down to the pan, rather then having just been on the...
