The best way to describe it is metallic vibration, something like if you spin a quarter on a desk, it only lasts a few seconds, does it in any gear but only when the gear is winding out and the tranny is going to shift (it's an aode).     Know what's funny, another (better) mechanic seems to think this is exactly what happened. He said if the mechanic who did the gaskets hadn't done such a job before that he could have easily not installed the distributor the right way.
