    suspension upgrade.

this will be a 3.0 V6 turbo...~200hp/tq factory, can easily push 400+ without internal mods. I used to be (kinda am still) BIG into 80's 300zx's, and stripped the majority of the one I had to put the stuff into another one I got...the bug in me died (after ~4 years) so now Im left with what...

    suspension upgrade.

I have an 86 2.3 stang...looking at putting in a VG30ET from an 87 nissan 300zx, now - I have gotton from a friend a set of C-springs, and tokico shocks. only thing is there is no ~86 tokico listing, only 87+. should I sell the shocks and get something else that is listed as for this car, or are...

she randomly wants to be lazy...

one more bit - found I had a leaking heater core, bad enough to the point that it was 3/4 empty when I replaced it after sitting all night. pull the hoses off, no mess, pull it out, no mess, flip it upside down...little bit comes out! I seriously feel this had a BAD effect on how well the ETC...

    87 GT window sag...

I have a strong belief that the window torque pins in my 87 GT T-top are about dead. now the thing is, Ive been looking a good bit for any kind of writeup/pictures of what is needed, tools, other parts than the pins, etc. to get the job done quickly and in one go! :hail2:

shoulda had this in the previous post...I have one of these at work, includes the 45 degree bend too! this thing has been a lifesaver! also - once the system got hot enough and opened up....woosh, it bled beautifully!:nice:

she randomly wants to be lazy...

did the thermostat (195 degree)...BIG difference in feeling and....heat in the car! haha. I think that and the o2's where what was really screwing with it. rechecked timing tonight, right on 10! (spout out) I think when my uncle installed the t-stat, maybe he had it backwards, or something...

she randomly wants to be lazy...

well I checked the coolant hoses, and outlets. it isnt getting much more than 140-150 degrees. got a stuck open T-stat. so I'll be getting that fixed next. still not doing near what it used to, still get a random pop sometimes but it isnt bucking and jerking and sputtering all the time...

she randomly wants to be lazy...

well, installed 2 new o2's as I had found a thread mentioning a similar issue. 1st run its doing better already it seems. tomorrow will tell me if they where the issue or not. although, I now can rumble around 20-30mph in 3rd or 4th and be able to hit the gas and go forward smoothly. as well as...

she randomly wants to be lazy...

I noticed today when I was leaving work, started up, and let it idle. just sitting there I knew when it went into and out of its condition. the idle got more distinct and choppy, keeping about the same rpm until it kicked out, and it rose ~50 or 100 rpm, still staying around 1000. I may need to...

she randomly wants to be lazy...

suposedly there is a temp sensor for the gauge, and one for the computer, seperately. Im not seeing any vacuum hoses on the front of the intake at all, there are a couple large hoses, one goes from one port to another on the upper intake, and one that goes striaght towards the front of the...

she randomly wants to be lazy...

plugs and wires are new from when I installed the engine (rebuilt) about 3k miles ago. MSD cap, rotor and wires. I think the plugs are autolite's. canister was removed prior to my having the car, not sure about vacuum hose location/route. when I first start up it goes to ~1500, then will...

she randomly wants to be lazy...

87 GT 5.0 HO, 5 speed, MAF converted - after about 2-5 min of driving it will start to backfire through the intake, buck, and stumble. If I floor it, she fires off, and goes well. once it's warmed up a bit (with barely any indication above 130 on temp.) it will be ok, unless I am going up a...

    89 2.3 to carbd 351w

HEY jrichker, thanks for the lookout, but..... im a VA state inspector. ^ his friend...which has no bearing on this comment. norther VA, near DC, and MD has emission testing, not Richmond area. we DO check for emissions components like at least one cat (or 2 depending), EGR, Evap... no smog...

    smog pump, makes me backfire!

well its mostly white smoke, but i expecting that to be just crap burning off, and a bit of oil mixed in... i do need to figure out how to run codes...haynes is a bit sketchy in its directions. i wouldnt be surprised at anything wrong w/ this car, previous mechanic was a half ass. theres a few...

    smog pump, makes me backfire!

1-I have been progressively fixing this car, (86 2.3 N/A) and i had cut the smog pump belt so it would quit backfiring. had to put a new belt on it for state isnp. and found that if I just disconnect the vacuum hose from the little control thing behind the pump, it will stop backfiring. the...

    ignition timing...

yep EGR I took off the actuator, totally gummed up, and cleaned thouroughly. im getting around 3-5 InHg of vacuum at the EGR hose. so i expect its working, also I put 5 InHg vacuum on the port myself at idle, and the car started to run funky...so its working. I did set timing to 10btdc with...

    ignition timing...

**** figured out the problem when I put on new timing belt, and cover. the plug wires where all one place too far forward, like 1 was on 3, 3 was on 4, and so on. so redid the plug wires on the dist. cap, and then it fired up good, adjusted the timing after removing the spout connector (I...
