yeah, i'm going to go ahead and tighten up the header bolts... is this better to do when the engine is still a little warm or wait until its completely cooled off?

side note: EGR eliminated improperly (capped off), 93 octane BP Ultimate, 12* ignition advance

given everything else equal, that is true... but i'm wondering if the ambient temp is somehow creating a timing change that could be creating detonation under certain conditions...

i've got an odd thing going on with my car... at first i thought it was an exhaust leak, now i'm not so sure... to preface this, all times mentioned are with the windows up and a/c on... radio off to listen closely... since i've been driving the car daily (about a week or so) on the freeway...

when i bought this car it had the EGR capped off and no tube... i guess this is fine if the EGR is disabled via a tweecer or other chip, but mine currently is not... i'm looking to hook it back up until such time as it can be deleted properly... if anyone has their spare tube after deleting...

exhaust leaks SUCK... i still have one either at the header/head connection or the header/h-pipe connection... the header will have to be removed to replace its gasket... supposedly the ford racing copper gasket is a good one... but i have those and wonder if they are leaking

yeah, that apparently was just a coincidence before... because by today it was doing it in either a forward gear or reverse... which confused us even more... but now makes sense... the sparking would happen when the clutch pedal was close to, but not at, the top... it seemed to take about 3-4...
