Progress Thread 68 Gt500kr Vert - Take Two

I would think there is a good market fort those center plates. I wanted to run a magnaflow stainless on my 66 vert but did not want to put spacers on and ended up going an oem type exhaust to fit. The dimensions are good for 65-70. I will definitely remember this on next build. Looks great.

    1966 Mustang Convertible Restoration

So you welded the topside first and then flipped to do spot welds on the inner rockers? Great build BTW - Amazed how you can remove whole back end and get everything to line back up.

    1966 Mustang Convertible Restoration

Thinking about getting a rotisseries for next project. Did it help with any of the floor welds or do you need to have full floor welded in before putting it on. Getting to old to be laying on my back doing plug welds.

Just curious why did you replace rear frame rail section looked solid in pictures. Also is there any easier way to remove inner rockers other than drilling out all spot welds?

    Backing Plate For Aftermarket Gauges

Getting ready to redo my instrument gauge cluster and was planning on using aftermarket gauges. Was looking at backing plate you can get for 66 Bezel. One thing I notices it mount gauges from back. Seems like it may have a tunnel effect with gauges - just curious what other experiences are -...

    New Seats

I did mine kast year - I actually put some weights on it early on when not driving to speed up. Has come down a little but still higher. You can alway trim the support pans underneath. I also heard others shave some foam off new seats.

    Welders

I was looking at them too. Seems to be a good value. Only drawback I heard and not completey sure if true - but if needed fixed out of warranty period could be a problem

Bolt On Hood Scoop For 65

Thanks. With bolt on make sure before you drill figure where the bolts will end up. Don't want to hit a cross member support or where nuts would end in hard to get to spot. I had to bring mine forward a little more then where they end up on fiberglass hoods.

    Extremely Beat 68 Fast Back

Maybe my current project has toughened my skin a little but looks like a good platform to start with. Only problem is since he is paying you to do it. Seems like a Dynacorn full body would be more cost effecient for your customer.
