Any regrets about buying a V6 instead of a V8?

It depends on what you want and how you drive. If you push your car, you'll probably enjoy the V8 more. For me, I don't, so the additional cost/insurance/gas didn't make sense. No regrets here.

    Single Exhaust Poll

I got the JBA... I think it qualifies as nice sound without too much drone. It's definitely louder than stock, but not too much.

    Fuel Economy on 2005 Mustang

I believe it's closer to 1.5 gallons left. I reset the the gallons used meter whenever I fill my tank and it's pretty reliable. It says 14.5 used when the red light comes on. The amount my tank gets filled is within .1 of the meter. I drive mostly in southern california freeway traffic...

    Cool Air Intake advice

I've heard good things about C&L. The air flow increase is great enough that you will need a tuner with it.

    v6 5-speed manual trans whine

The V6 definitely whines in the higher RPMs even in the auto. It sounds to me like it's the engine, not the tranny. *shrugs*

    Auto or 5 Speed

Man, I gotta get that done.

How fast have you got your v6?

I believe Scrming posted that on this board and I'm sure he said 130. If you're hitting the limiter, it shouldn't have any problems. I've never heard of one failing under 120.

    Auto or 5 Speed

In the auto there is a bit of hesitation when giving it gas some times. I think people here have said Ford refers to it as torque management. It can be kind of annoying, but it is disabled in most of the tunes you can get. I believe the people with autos that have done that are very happy (I...

#2 whats to fast for a V6 Mustang?

Yes, there is a speed limiter through the computer. It can be removed with a tuner (from what people here say). I can't remember exactly what the RPM was... maybe 3500/4000? The fastest I've heard of a NA V6 going is ~140 mph with CAI, 4.1 gears, etc...

#2 whats to fast for a V6 Mustang?

From what I've heard, the max limited speed of ~115 mph is safe. Above that and modifications for reinforcement need to be made (tires, driveshaft, etc). I personally have gotten mine up to 105 and it felt very solid.

Trunk does not open with Car Key?

First thing I thought of is valet key. Does the Mustang come with a valet key that doesn't open the trunk? I can't remember.

    CARB CAI's

Interesting find Jenn... from what I'm reading it looks like AEM's test shows the K&N filter performs better than their filter... kind of like AEM is saying "Almost as good as K&N without the oil!" Here's a stat sheet on a test of the S&B filter...

    CARB CAI's

Thanks Jenn, I've been to the site before and all 3 I mentioned do actually have an E.O., so it shouldn't be an issue. I'm actually leaning away from the AEM because it uses a metal tube which ends up being a heat radiating path for the air. I'd rather have good performance than shiny under...

    CARB CAI's

I'm looking at getting a CARB certified CAI. The ones that I know of are AEM, S&B and K&N. Any thoughts on those, good or bad? Any other CAI's that you know of that are legal in CA? (I see Injen is CARB pending) Right now I'm leaning toward the S&B...good price and the filtering/flow is...

What are the BEST Dealers Accisories and Upgrades are there for the V6 ? ? ? ?

I think he edited out what he had posted because this forum is about performance and installs, not looks. His answer was probably with performance upgrades in response to the title of your thread, but then he saw the message of your post and realized he didn't answer the question correctly...

Can I reduce battery drain from the radio?

How exactly is BMSTANG wasting his time? It sounds like a pretty interesting question to me. I have some friends who are electrical engineers, I'll see what they say. Update: I just talked to my buddy and he said the amp either could, or could not adjust the gain depending how how the amp...

    Another Exhaust Question

The general word around here is that performance will get worse for a naturally aspirated V6 if you go to a dual exhaust, especially in the low end range. Basically the engine doesn't push enough air to take advantage of the increased volume and it ends up hurting performance. I google'd...

    275/50-17s on rear??need help ASAP

I know people have gone up to 20" or so rims, so I doubt the extra height will matter. Sine the tire is 1.5 inches wider, but you're keeping the same rims you'll only need 3/4 inch of clearance on the inside. I haven't looked lately, but I doubt that'd be a problem. The easiest thing is to go...
