    65-66 rear sway bars

I had one on my 66 coupe. Only two issues. 1. The bar seemed to transmit a bit more road noise into the car. Not a big deal. 2. Even with the 1" front bar, the car felt a little loose in the rain. It was great fun in a parking lot to be able to drift, but day-to-day on the street it was...

'Click' sound from front suspension during braking?

If the clips are missing the pads will rattle around in the caliper when ever you hit a bump. Typically, when you apply the brakes, there will be a single "clack" as the pads set themselves against the caliper and the noise then stops. At least, that's what mine did. If you only get the...

'Click' sound from front suspension during braking?

Closely related to the "Granada Rattle" which is caused by not installing the anti-rattle clip on the other pad....

2005 mustang nose on classic mustang - has it been done?

Hmmmm......interesting, but not exactly what I was thinking. Somehow that reminds me of the kind of stick on plastic chrome you would normally find at a PT Cruiser convention.....:notnice:

2005 mustang nose on classic mustang - has it been done?

Agree. I'm not too fond of the restyling exercises that eliminate chrome bumpers and add a plastic valence to older cars. In my eyese, it just doesn't look quite right. OTOH, I can't help but look at the '05-'08 Mustang and wonder what it would look like if you added some more classic...

2005 mustang nose on classic mustang - has it been done?

The 69 nose is cool. I wonder how a 70 front end would look? Might go better with the rest of the late model body.

Can I use a helicoil in a flywheel????

It would be almost as easy to have a machine shop drill and tap six new holes for you.

2005 mustang nose on classic mustang - has it been done?

You know, that doesn't look half bad, although I would lose the rear wing and make the front chin a little more conservative. 99-04 GT's are dirt cheap right now. That would be a neat body kit. Somebody call Cervini and get this one on the market!

being told 2 different thing about a rear end

From the outside of the wheel mounting flange to the outside of the opposite flange, my Granada rear is 57 3/4". If you measure between the BRAKE flange, you'll get a measurement of about 52". That accounts for the offset on the brakes on each side. The best way to measure a rear, IMO, is...

2005 mustang nose on classic mustang - has it been done?

Might be kind of cool if there were a way to give the 94-04 stangs a more classic nose. Any photoshoppers out there?

Some pictures of my project... The Mustang SHO

Moving the shifter back was necessary when installing a T-5 into a late thunderbird. The MN12 guys came up with a slick kit, but they may not be offering it anymore. Take a look at this website for the MN12 shifter. If that kit is no longer available, another option would be to cut the...

I'll try to get to it tonight.

Experience with Restoration Shop brand BC/CC paint?

It's a high metallic, but definitely not "bass boat" metallic. No big hunks of large metalflake, just a higher content of the regular flake, it seems. I tried to order a paint chip chart, but never got a response, so I just jumped in and got the paint. I'm happy with it. The pic on the...

Experience with Restoration Shop brand BC/CC paint?

I think the name was Firemist Pewter Mettalic. The fenders on this car are just rattle can satin black.

I've used it. It works fine, looks good. It's cheaper on Ebay.

    Recentering a rearend?

These cars went together with some pretty sloppy tolerances. My coupe has never been hit or bent and is over 1/4" off in some dimensions left to right. Anyone who has ever installed an export brace or Monte Carlo bar on more than one Mustang can probably attest to the differences in dimensions...

    Coupe-Convertible Conversion?

This topic comes up about twice a year (for at least the last ten years). 1. The Ronster is a topless, windowless roadster. Good luck when the weather goes foul. At least a leaking cowl is no longer a major issue. 2. Whacking off a lid and building a homemade convertible top...

fr manual rack installed...should it feel like this?

The Unisteer I installed had binding issues on the u-joints themselves. The u-joint yokes would make contact every 180 degrees. I had to use a grinder to relieve the ends to take the contact points out. Also check the steering shafts. If they protrude into the u-joint, they also will bind...
