    Best tool for cutting plenum??

You need to find someone with one of these. I have two cut already that I was going to do something with the uppers but I never got around to it. I have been making holes in one practicing welding (TIG). Maybe I will shorten the other one I have and TIG it back together. T.J.

How do you port the stock TB to 65mm and upper intake?

Stock is 60mm. They can be bored out to 63 or so mm without boring a hole in them like my link states. T.J.

    going to port lower

TMOSS, I decided to bring my camera with me to the shop today. I had to get a new tank of gas. The other one was a week old and it leaked at the neck. So the welding supply place gave me a new bottle full of argon cause they knew some of them had some probs. So I had to finish tigging my...

    going to port lower

Here is a test example of .500 T-6 to .090 sheet. I was practicing cause I am fabricating a box upper and going to machine the .500 to match an M-112 lightning blower. However I changed my mind and I am going to machine the box out of a big chunk of T-6061 alum. T.J.

    going to port lower

Yes Tom, picking the brain of the old time certified aircraft welders is the way to go. I have many handbooks and books on welding and GTAW (TIG) welding that I have read but when you have a question the books cannot talk to you and demonstrate to you. Thanks. T.J.

    going to port lower

Tom, What do you have for a welder. What I do for the hole is start at the edge of the hole, get it going then as it cools (in a relative sense) keep going on the edge. It is hard to explain. Give it a try. Pretty cool to see it happen. The first time I tried doing this I was just getting a...

    going to port lower

Tom, With all do respect man, yes I am able to do this. It is not that hard. Matter of fact I have an old stock upper that I practice on and I tried this the other day. I drilled a .500 hole in the runner and turned my machine to about 120 amps (using foot pedal of course) and got a puddle...

    going to port lower

I disagree you cannot puddle into a hole. I just did this the other day. Takes some skill but I filled in a .500 hole in the intake you see above. If you have an MSC near you they carry carbide burrs. T.J.

    going to port lower

Yes you can TIG weld a puddle at the dog leg before you port. It really does not matter if you do it before or after. I prefer to do it after cause in your case what if you make the puddle and still go through lets say next to the puddle you. Thus you would have to re-TIG it again. T.J.

    electric fan mounts?

Don't laugh at the pic. I know it is a chevy. I built this stand and also made mount out of anlge to hold a corvette elect. fan. Works good for what I am using it for. I will be adapting this stand to run fords as well T.J.

    Exhaust project

The best way to do this would be with a TIG. However a MIG can do this well but you have to grind back and check for holes. Also I have done many turbo DP and such and I check my TIG welds with custom made caps on the end of the pipe and have a fitting on one of the caps and run compressed air...

    Lower intake porting

TMOSS and others. Yes I do go in later after I am done with the initial "port matching" and clean up and also do the short side radius as well. I will be also TIG welding some more aluminum on the next intake for runners #1 and #5. Michael Yount, what I am doing here is port matching as well as...

    Lower intake porting

I am doing another lower for a buddy of mine and I calculated it will take about 1 hour total. Try that with a die grinder. Also you get repeatability with this as well. The ports are also more inline and the walls are square. T.J.

    Lower intake porting

I do not post here much. Too busy I guess. Well I decided to port my lower GT-40 intake for a project that I will be working on. I am going to put a lightning blower (m-112) on a 5.0 the right way. I will be fabricating an upper box and machining an adapter plate and a jack shaft assembly for...
