    Steering Wheel Vibration

My first thought from your description, steering rack bushings. However, the above is good advise, have the whole front end looked over for worn or loose parts. Mark

    PULLING MOTOR - 1 Question

My votes goes to pull both at once. The four bolts that connect the trans to the motor is a PITA on your back. I hate pulling the trans. altough it's not a bad as pulling a trans on a sideways motor. :notnice:

8.8 turbocoupe rearend? What do I need?

If you mean can you put just brakes on and not the whole rear end, yes, with the new brackets. Just rip all the drum stuff off, bolt on the bracket, put the old axle back in, rotors then the calipers. You'll still have the master cylinder issues. I would do those first, new master, gut old...

brakes squeal/chirp when I let off the brakes? Any ideas?

DT is correct. A little lip off the shoes contact the back plate, I used a little axle grease on both sides and never had the problem again. But then again about a year later I converted to rear disc. :D and that permanently solved the problem.

8.8 turbocoupe rearend? What do I need?

if you buy brackets from http://www.northracecars.com/catalog/brakes/brakes.htm you will be able to use your old axles and the wheels won't stick out. Which in turn will eliminate the need to roll your fenders, and prevent tire rub (if your car is lowered). If you use the brackets, you will...

    1.7 multiplier

thanks fellows for the formula. I have the cam specs in one of my books. The motor is a 85 HO roller. At least now I can make a comparison.

    1.7 multiplier

Can anybody tell be what the 1.7 rocker multiplier is. I'm rebuilding my motor on the 85 ans was considering keeping the stock cam. The rebuild is a DSS 306 rotating assembly with powerheads. Just curious what the cam values would be with 1.7 rockers, before I make a final decision on a cam...

how bad of a problem is this? Motor install?

You know what, I'm in the process of pulling my motor and I just went out to look at it and it does look to be off a little to the left. optical illusion maybe... If the trannie cross-member bolts up properly and the drive shaft is straight, it's probably okay. As memtioned above there is no...

how bad of a problem is this? Motor install?

Interesting......... Did the trannie bolt up center on the cross member. Have you checked the motor mounts to see if they were seated right? Did you put the drive shaft up to see if it was straight. Where did you get the motor, rebuild it yourself? Just some questions to see if it's not...

What suspension for a stock '85 Stang GT

The problem with the 85 is the front spindle and the rear 7.5 axle. Replace the rear end with a t-coupe 8.8. T-coupe rear is a great package, a strong 8.8" rear end, disc brakes, and either 3.55 or 3.73's. You can mantain stock axle width by using the North Race car brackets for the calipers...

    stock block question....w/ No2

all things considered and your engine is in relatively good condition I wouldn't exceed 125 unless you strengthen your bottom end. Just some advise I got from a renegade engine builder. You could shot more but not for long.

    rear disc brake conversion

:D okay thanks, as a matter of fact I do need all ten fingers. I'm thinking I might be able to mig the little hole in the stock plug (depending on what it's made out of) and use it until the proper part comes in ( now looking like Wednesday :bang: )

    rear disc brake conversion

 10 fingers? When installing rear disc brakes you have to remove the interior spring and plug (the guts) of the stock proportioning valve (because the stock proportioning valve for my car wasn't designed with disc brakes in mind. So an aftermarket proportioning valve must be installed...

    rear disc brake conversion

So, I spent all day installing the FMS rear brake conversion kit, which is basically the Turbo-coupe brakes, axles and proportioning valve and come to find out that I needed to gut the stock proportioning valve. Easy enough but I don't have the plug screw to complete the gutting. Now with my...

My car has been giving me hell for some reason

Well, that's something you'll have to investigate further. If it's a blown gasket, that would cause a vacumm leak which in turn would cause your horrible drivablity. Are the bolts torqued down properly? could have lossened from vibration. Just some thoughts.

    Rough Idle/Running VERY Rich...HELP!!

my guess would be a vaccum leak or bad egr. Bad egr will cause rough idle, stalling and poor gas mileage. Just something else for you to check.

What can I get a 8.8 out of?

I was going to take an 8.8 out of an 89 crown vic. I just assumed it was an 8.8. Never really got to the point of actually getting my hands on one because I found a TC rear end instead. Just a thought to start your search. Mark..

Stang axles in a Turbo Coupe Rearend ??

I did read an article in Feb 5.0 mag where a guy put a t-bird rear end in his 92lx. The tech sheet showed he had SN95 28 spline axles. I guess, now the question is are the SN95's the same as the fox's.
