    Thanks for the help guys. Found that the IAC sensor wasn't making a good connection and the harness clip was broken. Cleaned it and wrapped it with electrical tape to hold it tight- good to go.

    That's what's messing me up. If I advance the timing quite a bit it runs properly. The balancer has been replaced and was set by a mechanic- he didn't mention anything about it being off. So if it was correct (allegedly) before and it doesn't matter if it's off a tooth what would throw it off?

    I would spend the extra $ to get some better control arms. I have the Blue Oval Industries control arms- poly on both ends- and the bushings wear out fast.

    for those of you with lowered stangs...

    I put the bushings in and left the bolts loose- put the wheels on it and drove it down the driveway and back into the garage to let the suspension settle a little. Then jacked it up by the diff and tightened the bolts up. The rear suspension was compressed so it should be the same right?
