Thanks for the reply. I can't drive the car as it has no engine in it!
I had the car on axle stands, replaced the spring each side and left the bolts front and back quite loose, then put the wheels back on and let the car settle for a bit - however, there is no weight in the car at all - no...
What do you do about the clamps that are on the spring, just reuse them? How easy are they to get off and then replace?
I have just put new 41/2 leaf reverse eye springs on my 66 fastback and I have a massive gap like you had - don't want to use the blocks if possible.
Do I just reverse...
Great thread. These things are not done in five minutes ... please keep this thread going with your thoughts (and lots of pics for the electrically-challenged ie me).
I plan on doing my 66 fastback with the Painless kit.
As has been said, it wants a paint and a tidy. Why not lift the engine and spend a week painting it the same colour as the car will be - Azure blue wasn't it?
Then maybe make all the other colurs in there blue as well maybe.
I've got a pic of the best engine bay I've ever seen (and no...

Thinking about the possibility of this for my 66 fastback undergoing resto.
Anyone had one, used one, seen one?
Looks good value for money ...
Anyone any views?
Thanks from the UK.
Edit: hiowever, just seen the Heidts...
Hey must be done by now ...
Hi
Any more info on the car? Surely you've racked up a good few miles by now and ironed out the gremlins - although I'm sure there weren't (m)any.
Cheers from the UK ...

Hello from the UK
A mate of mine who runs a Mustang business on the south coast of the UK makes and puts these boxes in the boot of coupes - have a look at his site www.buyconfidently.com
If you go to his vehciles sold page and have a look at the red ones at the bottom of the page - it shows...
Any updates? How's it running - must be all finished by now I should think?
Any more pics - you were getting near to completion the last time I checked in ...
Cheers

That's the troube with being in the UK - a lot of these things pass you by - not having good access to the Mustang magazines etc., it's sometimes difficult keeping up with that's out and what's not.
Any other variations...

Has anyone fitted this to their 65 or 66? A long-term aim of mine is to import this to the UK and fit it to my '66 fastback becuase a) it'll be a MASSIVE improvement over the original system and b) it looks superb and c) there are aren't any...

... from your last post - any more driving experiences yet - even up and down the road? Interested to know how you found the front suspension set up although I guess we'll have to wait until you get it properly on the road when you can test it more fully!
Back to the wheels...
Thanks guys - I have the 289 block of course so maybe will investigate getting things done here. I can buy a crate motor here but the cost is much more than buying and importing from the US. Of course there are pros and cons of doing the deal, especially being so far away ...
Thanks for all...
Hi, Pretty new to the boards and loooking for some guidance.
I'm rebuilding a fastback here in the Uk and it has an old battered 289 in it which I fancy selling and replacing with a nice 351.
I've seen their site and it's pretty impressive - anyone here have any experience of using them...
Very nice car!
I have a rebuild of a 66 underway - wondered what you thought of the Painless wiring system and how easy was it to fit?
How many hours did you spend fitting the Heidts front sus set-up? ANd why did you pick that ption. New to StangNet and just trying to get some feedback for...
